Uniroyal Rainsport 2S

Camskill are by far the cheapest, £132 for a pair delivered (plus £20 fitting). On Saturday I noticed they eventually have some in stock. It said 'Stock Available for Next Working Day Dispatch (ex.Sat/Sun) if ordered before 4:00pm (Mon-Fri)'. However by Monday there was no stock. They had them last night, but not today. This is for the W rated tyres. It says the V rated ones are comming in next week (23rd Feb).

The cheapest alternative I have found, so far, is North East Tyre & Exhausts at £161 fully fitted, although they would have to order them from the warehouse. I didn't ask what speed rating they are.

W rated 74 quid each fitted at Britannia Tyres Hinkley.

http://www.tyretrade...0545R1683WRSPT2 I got mine from there and they were fine.

£127 a pair + fitting from here. £5 cheaper than Camskill. Speed rating W, not sure if that changes the price though.

Thank you for that.

They don't say if they have any in stock or not, but I'm sure if I give them a ring, they will tell me.

When you placed the order with them, were they quick to deliver?

No worries.

I ordered them late on a Tuesday evening with the view to them being shipped striaght to a garage to get them fitted by them (included in the price) on the Thursday or Friday, and they were they ready. So a 1 or 2 day lead time, pretty good IMO.

I don't think they stated stock levels when I ordered mine either, I just went with it in hope (it had started snowing, and my tyres only had about 2-3mm left and weren't much use) and they turned up.

Oh, does it show up in google etc too then? Good times. :giggle:

Just hope they've got them in stock now.

Had two Rainsports fitted on the front today, £175 all in through Blackcircles.com. Only done a few miles but feel much better than the Toyos I had on before.

Perhaps it's all in the mind but I notice the difference now I have Rainsports all round - just replaced the Klebers on the front (were on the car when I bought it - Klebers actually weren't that bad - quite decent in the wet).

I don't think it's psychological. With the Toyos it felt jittery and I was feathering the throttle and constantly doing minor readjustments on the steering round corners. On the Rainsports it feels planted and I can point it and go.

Just hope they've got them in stock now.

I rang them up this afternoon and they said only 2 left. So I immediately placed an order.

The tyres had slightly gone up in price from last week, but £130.25 delivered is still a bargain price.

I will report back when they (hopefully) arrive.

was £130.25 fitted?

I paid about £125.00 fitted back in july last year for U2's fitted on my old fab vrs, miss the fuel economy my type r does 230miles on 41 litres lol, thats not even in vtec y0! range much lol.

No, That was £130 delivered to my house. That's £61.82 each plus P&P. I don't know how much extra they charge for fitting, but a local fitter will do it for £10 per tyre. It will obviously be £150 fitted.

As a comparison, two years ago I bought a pair of T1-Rs for £115 delivered from Camskill.

Had Rainsport 2's fitted on front a few weeks ago (in place of Eagle F1 GSD3's).

I'm not keen on them at all. :'(

I find them breaking away all the time, even under light throttle and they are nowhere near as confidence inspiring as the Eagles. That said, they are very good in the wet, but on par with the Eagles, not noticably better.

Personally, I won't be buying another set - back to the Goodyears for me.

How any mile you driven on them? Normally takes approx 500 miles for the mould release lubricant to wear off the surface of the tyre.

Just to add some balance to the debate; I too have went from Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's recently to Uniroyal Rainsport 2's, the tyres are now ran in (as djdazzy has alluded to above) and I'm not seeing any great difference in the dry, which is actually high praise, as I loved the GSD3's.

In the wet the Rainsports are better, no question about it, going through standing water, stopping they are more confidence inspiring, and I'm not comparing new Rainsports v's the well-worn GSD3's, even when new the GSD3s, while very good, were not as sure footed.

I have not experienced any "breaking away" at all, although my car is standard.

I was surprised with these comments as my experience with Rainsport 2's is also extremely positive in both dry and wet over 25k miles driven. I hardly ever get spin even in the wet, the ER300's used to light up at the least provocation even when dry.

Put over 800 miles onto them now, they did improve over the first 3-400 or so, but still not good now.

The GSD3's would just plant the power, these seem to try to spin it away all the time at lower speeds.

But then I also strongly dislike the Toyo T1-R's that everyone seems to love also! :smirk:

Found them dangerously slippery until fully warmed up.. At which point they were fine.

Maybe it's just me / my car?

Have you checked the tyre pressures since you switched? Maybe the fitter put too much air in, it is odd that you are seeing such a difference and FWIT I'm not a fan of T1-R's either.

Nope, I don't like Toyos either but no problems with the Rainsports "breaking away" either. Strange.

Yip, pressures are to the book.. Gonna give them a bit of abuse this weekend and re-evaluate. Tempted to take them back to the shop and see what they say!

Benjiman I noticed your in bristol like myself, were did you get your tyres from? I got mine from able fit, the first lot able fit in longwell green fitted had the wrong speed rating, had a ding dong with them and had to get the brislington able fit to get the correct ones and swap them at no charge.

I am running with V rated RS2's, not sure if this is going to make any difference regarding grip or handling.

Absolutely no difference whatsoever.

Look what was delivered this afternoon.
