30% I think. Initially thought I had gone too light, but happy with the finish in the end.

No plans for that at the moment. Not sure how usable all the extra power would be. Two things from reading your blog, the Powerflex mount, did that come with the Milltek? If it did, they supply the MK5 one which will not fit. Mines in the for sale section at the moment and had to buy another one, Neuspeed. Also, what made you purchase the Apr intake. Not that well rated, should have gone for the Itg. When they were compared on the Gti forum, the Itg made big gains over the Apr.

Yeah I got the mount at the same time from Awesome, balls if its the wrong one, prob just stick it on Ebay then! how did you find out which one you needed?

The new Carbonio is very different to the one tested on the TFSI, the new one showed very healthy gains in the MK6 GTi forums, and was in fact their recommended intake.

I leant under the car and took a photo of the mount using my phone. I then compared the photo with the images on awesome and jkm. Quite ingenious I thought!

lol, indeed! dont suppose you have a pic/link to the one you bought that actually fitted then?

thanks Noba, so how do you find it? heard it can make things a little harsh?

this is the one Ive got (yellow one): http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=36768&xSec=400 looks like Ill be selling that soon then!

suitable for a daily driver?

got my TTS shifter and intake fitted today, think Ill fit an insert and RARB next!

Initially for the first few hundred miles there was a little more vibration when the engine was idling and when reversing. Seems to have bedded in nicely now though and hardly any different than standard. Seems to have made everything a little more crisper and also the engine note seems a little different, great little mod.

*Update* After having moved to stage 2, I was getting clutch slip in 5th+6th from low revs. Today I have had a Sachs performance clutch fitted and also now switched the Revo map to Performance mode 3. Apart from being a little snappier and stiffer, it feels very similar to standard and fine for town driving. Car feels very fast now and according to my mechanic, felt much quicker than an ED30 that he remapped yesterday. Just need to try and get a few miles on it now before Combe on Saturday which I am very much looking forward to. See you all there.

Nice work

Should make the performance that bit more accessible and tractable now, good effort!

For a comparison, I drove my mates new Fabia vRS earlier on a mixture of b-roads and dual carrigeway. As nice as it was, I thought it felt very lethargic and seriously lacking torque. Great gearbox though, although I still think I prefer a manual.

Sounds good.

Any plan to get your car on a dyno?

Interested in which clutch you got! Can you give us more info mate? Heard the mk6 gti guys just changing the disc!

It was the Sachs clutch plate and cover along with the master cylinder. Kept the oem flywheel. It's listed on the JKM website where I bought it. £625 delivered. In an answer to your question Rob, I do intend to Dyno as soon as I can get to a decent one. Don't think there are too many in the Southwest.

Just had a little b-road blast on the way home from work. There is only one word to describe it now and that is 'holycowthatsreallyfeckingquick'. Its very very rapid and pick up is instant in any gear from anywhere in the rev range, all the way into the red. Thoroughly impressed with the stage 2 software and highly recommend it to anyone who's thinking about it, although a new clutch is a must if you want to really utilize it. I can confirm that my old clutch looks brand new and that the slip I encountered was purely down to the amount of torque from the software update.

One thing that has been highlighted again tonight is the need for the better brakes and suspension first. You can hit silly speeds in what feels like a blink, and to know that you have the anchors if needed is a very reassuring thought.

Sounds great

Just out of interest, did you notice the increased unsprung weight when you fitted the bigger brakes?

May head to Combe on Saturday as well. I would be very interested in checking out your car nobafett.

No difference at all. Even if you could, I reckon the benefits far outweigh any negatives. They nearly put me head first through the windscreen yesterday when giving them a little test!

You would be more than welcome to have a good look.

- yesterday also managed to update the vehicle settings to Australian and now have a nice large digital MPH readout on the maxidot.

Exactly right. Always set it up to handle and stop, before making it go quicker

Sounds a right blast now though - good work B)

Try Alan Jeffery in Plymouth, top bloke, and a decent set of Dyno Dynamics rollers too

Very nice read this thread. You have good taste in mods. I wonder if you got any pics of the brakes fitted?

Nobafett - you're a guy with the experience to give me a tip!

I moved from a FIRM-ride Yeti to a Mk II Octavia Estate 1.8TSI 152PS last month, and I like to push the car a bit but roads in N Ireland are cr*p! The car's body rolls on corners more than the Yeti did, and on uneven surfaces the body feels like it just sways about compared to the Yeti! (I know reviewers praise the Octavia's handling though!) Please may I have your experienced opinion .. I can spend about £1000: do I go for B12 Pro-kit springs and dampers, or just the springs from that kit (or an alternative) and also throw in anti-roll-bar at rear and/or front? (Also what is an anti-lift-kit?). What would produce the best improvement for the money? (Also, is Awesome a good option for the fitting?) If you're willing to comment from all your mod experiences, I'd be most grateful. Thanks in anticipation.

Better sticking all of that in a fresh thread really, save cluttering up this thread with suggestions for your Octy.
