1.4 16V badge

A doddle to fit, once you have removed the old one. This is best achieved with the aid of heat from a hairdier and some thin wire type material such as fishing line or dental floss. Don't do what I did and use one of the razorblade paint removing thingies. That will damage the paint  The new badge is easy to attach as it comes as a complete item with the Octavia letters so alignment is easier.

So what benefits can you expect from this mod? Less attention from those that don't know what your car is, amusement from those that do.

Would I do it again? Possibly although I could be tempted by the 1.6i badge.

Magic tree air freshner

Dead easy to fit. Just put the supplied loop around the rear view mirror and the job is done. :D

So what benefits can I expect from this mod? Adds about 500bhp to the car, according to my Max Power friends, and makes you drive like a Finnish rally god due to the overpowering aroma of pine :D

Would I do it again? Probably not. Its embarassing going into meetings smelling like a lumberjack, its Neutradol for me next time. I'll report back once I've fitted it.

Smiley stickers in side windows

Can be a tad troublesome to fit due to the circular nature of these products. It can be a bit of a mare to get them lined up on both sides of the car

So what benefits can I expect from this mod? Well it doesn't really affect performance unless you count actually being able to identify your car in a field and they do keep TaviaRS Junior amused.

Would I do it again? Yes, my smilies will be going with me whatever car I have.

:D

5 words to 500 will do, as posts in the reviews section :D

I know some are imposible to really detect, so general comments like it fits okay, don't forget to add the 'o' ring etc.

will write something up...

post it alongside my suicide note...." nobody likes me.. they all avoid me on sunday mornings..and go off without me......."

hope these are more use than taviaRS's effort.....

Product reviews:-

Neuspeed Induction Kit

The kit was very easy to install. It all just bolted in place using the same mounts as the factory air box. The noises are lightly louder induction roar but nothing too major - the major difference with regard to noise is you can now hear the DV working. Performance wise the throttle response is a little quicker but as a whole little difference. I do expect the benefit will be felt more by someone running higher than stock boost.

Looks wise the kit is the nuts

Colin,

I'll write my reviews next week if that's OK with you, should be able to cover off the following:

Leda Tarmac Rally suspension

KW Variant 3

Hayward and Scott decat system

Impreziv Motorsport FMIC

Powerflex uprated bushes

May also include a few other bits and bobs (if fitted in time) :D

Oh, forgot the dump valve and the various hose kits

no the oversize visible from space one you had airbrushed to your roof!

Nah, I think you have me confused witha van driver, there's more room on their roofs for that slogan than on the hatch.

Why not go the whole way and do a 4x4 turbo badge next time.

You will triple outpsych them.

1. "Huh-huh, a Skoda 4x4, yeah sure. Let's kick the bngger's ar5e."

2. "Huh-huh, a Skoda turbo, yeah sure. They really should stop Halfords selling those."

3. As you power away from the lights, tyres smoking, fire bellowing from your free-flow exhaust. "Huh-huh, see I told you it wasn't a 4x4, and it's no t..."

[100 yards further up the road]

...ur... bo... either... Ow ****!"

Denis, what's that trick again for disabling the Haldex? :D

why not put the 1.2 badge on... off a Fabia with a 4x4 badge

and an automatic badge..

Just go the whole hog, and put an SDi badge on it.

"Boy, them Skoda diesels is quick........."

I've got to but my 1.4 badge on yet, not even a 1.4 16v...

back on, indeed if we can find a RR up north or midlands for change :)

off again, should have done it for this weekend when te saab 9-3 was up me bum, till I found 3rd gear and a striaght to overtake the rolling traffic jam, bleedin scooters.

Back on, or down south with enough notice.

Mattijs

I think it's Ian's trick. Handbrake on one click, IIRC. (Perhaps that was what Jon was trying to do when he let someone drive his car with the handbrake on). :D

Mattijs

Found it by trawling Ian's posts. Try this link.

NB The Management will not accept responsibility for any fun (or breakages) incurred in trying this out.

Thanks, Denis.

Not that I was seriously contemplating aforementioned trick. I don't have a psychology major just yet... ;)

Paul - the intercooler airflow mod looks good but .... have you been through any puddles in the last couple of days - I can imagine a lot of road cr*p is going to get posted through there by the wheel. How does it look after the rain at the weekend?
