Mrs Gaz has gone to bed, but I’m buzzing.  I can hardly believe what I’m seeing!! Those pics are just from my iPhone 😎

You are so bloody lucky...   My daughter has had a great view from Lancaster but we e got too much light pollution where we are and I've had too much to drink to drive somewhere dark!

We tried from here on t'Wirral but we're on the Dee side and partway downhill from the sandstone ridge - hence no decent view North plus the usual issues with light pollution.  I have seen the Northern Lights in an absolutely spectacular display near Pitlochry some years back but I'd hoped my wife would be able to see them for the first time this time; no luck 😞

It's looking promising again for tonight so we'll be having a dry night and trying again...

Our issue is we're on the south west edge of the city up quite high and near the top of a hill so whilst we can see north that's where the 'glow' in the sky from the rest of the city is and any other direction were looking up into street lights that are higher up the hill.

Needs a walk to the farm at the top of the road or drive out into the Peak District...

You are so bloody lucky... 😁 (I love the Peak District 😎)

We're BBQ'ing tonight, so I expect to be incapacitated from driving.  If you do get anything remotely coherent from me later, it'll probably be like the scene with Mac in Local Hero, describing the Borealis to Happer :blush

Sounds like a plan ...

We had a good mooch around different potential spots last night, but beyond a faint greenish tinge to the sky, didn't spot anything like had been seen Friday night.

It appears tonight might be an option though, although weather forecast doesn't appear favourable 🤞
