They are one of my favourite birds, them and owls. Perhaps slightly more biased to the Robins because they are the tamest of our wild birds and are the most comfortable with our close presence to them. We have one in our garden who will get really close to us.

Is that the Sigma? I had an early Tamron version of that length (150-600mm), but sold it in the end as it was a bit too much for me. I don't do birds or wildlife.

Bet you will have a lot of fun with it :) I feel moon photos (the lunar type) coming very shortly :D

I thought it looked like a Sigma, I hope its not as soft as the one I have. I have the 18 - 250mm telephoto and the 250 is more like a 200, I quickly replaced it with a Canon 70 - 300 lense, far better IMHO.

I have the canon 70-300 at 300 its can be soft as most telephoto lenses can be compared to prime lenses ,my photography is just a tad of a hobbie hence the sigma ,a 600 mm canon is roughly 13 grand ,so one for the pros .

Yeah tell me about it, primes are really expensive. My son is also into photography and he has a Canon 300 L series, the beige pro lense and we use them for shooting aircraft and cars.

I've hired the Canon 300mm F2.8 II from Calumet and it's a great deal. Pick the lens up on Friday and return it Monday morning, total cost including insurance that Calumet sort is around £60 (not hired for a couple of years so it may have gone up a little). Still great value for 2.5 days on a lens that cost around £6k when new

A few photos from Attenborough Nature Reserve yesterday afternoon (just before Storm Isha hit).

Still a few signs of the recent flooding, although the Geese were making it look easy in the high winds!!

Not entirely sure why, but I somehow thought we'd have an especially dramatic sunset after all the recent weather, but it kinda fizzled out on me ............🤨
