Featured Replies

Are we talking 1.8T petrol or diesel?

I had a quick skim read but failed to see which fuel it would be running on.

Where you gonna find a 1.8 diesel? It's a petrol from an Octavia.

Nice to see it's restarted.

Looks like a good unit too, always better than working outside!

Thanks for the reply ... Are these strut bar stiff? I am sceptical about it because they have a very odd shape. According to my education they should not do a good job because of their design.

BTW, I love how your car looks. The drop with the superb steelies are amazing. The front bumper is exquisite. Now the 1.8T would make it go REALLY fast too ... Great project

Sweeet!

Are you using a standard Fabia steering rack? will it still fit with the larger driveshafts?

Great to see it restarted again, looking forward to the outcome

What's the rack got to do with driveshafts?

Good progress so far :)

What's the rack got to do with driveshafts?

Whoops!, I had not long woken up when i wrote that :D

what i meant was I was under the impression you needed different driveshafts, needing different hubs and my question was whether the steering rack would still work with different hubs!

Top job so far.

I've got Ibiza FR driveshafts, hubs all exactly the same.

Looks a decent Unit you got yourself there dude! Will keep checking for updates :p

A ford escort 55 van ;)

Not tempted to put this in the Fabia Project section Tech1e?

I had to do a bit of a search to find it before. :D

I think this thread pre dates the project section, can't remember why it didnt start in there.

Excellent progress over a weekend :)

Nice one Ross. Good to see the project underway again.

Glad you're sorted with a unit too - all coming together nicely :)

Well done Ross loving this thread,is the wiring for the car going to be a issue?a have the same car but its the 16v which drinks more oil than fuel lol, already have my eyes on a donor car but was wanting to know a bit more about the wiring cheers Murray

Wiring won't be an issue for me no, just a case of mixing and matching the original vehicle loom with the Octavia one.

Nice unit Ross. Glad your project is up & running again. Will keep watching this for updates.

Should be a nice clean simple engine bay when done.

That's quite a collection of fire extinguishers, not worried about catching fire are you?
