The end of the Octavia 02J is slightly wider than the Fabia 02R so made the mounting a little wider so it will mate up.

Mounting on cambelt side bolted up

Not hanging around Ross as usual :p Looking good mate!!

Great progress as usual Ross. Thumb up!

Just need a G60 flywheel and clutch and the engine can go in.

we have one sat under a chair that was meant to go into the Golf before we changed it for the Leon

Fantastic project mate, i have just joined up to find 1.8t fabia projects, can i just ask, why the g60 flywheel? is the oct box 6 speed? so with the little sai blank you can loose the whole sai system? Will you be running an eml light? are you using the oct engine loom? :-)

Using a g60 flywheel rather than the heavy 5 speed dual mass from the Octavia.

The Fabia is back on the road as a 1.4 still for a while, well was. Not been used for five months, fired up first time and flew through its MOT. On the way back the dreaded PAS light came on and lost assistance. I knew it was coming, never had a PAS problem as yet and she's some 11 years old now, still got the plastic sensor on it. Connected up 6150B this morning and no communication with the pump. Muscled her home after work and popped the front bumper off to check the pump.

Pump looking 11 years old alright, still in the factory foam and un touched, done well.

12v and earth at the main plug, also 12v ignition feed to the four pin plug. Looks like the pump has finally given up.

Few other bits and bobs on her prior to the steering issues, new wheels

And a new face, green is going.

Shall get a new pump ordered tomorrow, back on the road soon.

Could change the horn while the bumper's off :D Not that it's difficult with the bumper on with a 1.4, dunno if the sports body kit changes that though.

Your headlight lenses look amazingly clear, need to give mine a polish up.

They are clear as the headlamps are new, had one for ages as a spare and just ordered a new one last week. Only £40, bargain.

Had to take the bumper off, the front bumper is meshed so has no removable inserts in it. But bumper has been off so many times it practically falls off now..lol

Oooh are they Superb 16" trims?

I tried to find a set of those, but couldn't find them anywhere at a reasonable price :(

  • Author

Yeah the retail price ain't too reasonable lol

well done keep the good work going,i did the same transplant into a vw t4 transporter :whew:

Nice work. Yeah, the Superb trims work well B)

Should have kept the Beezer Ross.

That never had anything major go wrong........oh....hold on ;)

It's by no means a difficult job to sort out, and has given me a chance to sort a few other bits and bobs whilst I'm at it. At £680 for a genuine pump Skoda can take a running jump..lol. Found a new one for a third of that thank you. Collecting it tomorrow so be back in business tomorrow night.

PAS fixed, was the pump (of course, never doubted my diagnosis :p). Now looking the the bodywork as an interim fix. Do intend on getting her painted at some point but as there are some corrosion issues going on due to a bad quality rear end repair at some point (poor prep and thin paint). So as I don't want the rear arches to fall out I've flatted them back, treated and then zinc primed for the moment. Also got to tackle the doors, rust is coming from under the bump strips. That's for tomorrow, still good progress for now.

Really looks the part on the superb trims. Best of luck with the 1.8t conversion.

Are those wheels spaced out Ross?
