Order Times, Build Times, Delays, The Skoda Black Hole Ordering System

Featured Replies

My VRS was built last week (week 38) and I had a very unexpected call to say the car was due to arrive at dealers this week and might even be ready for collection on Friday. (Ordered 19th March)

This is pretty quick getting it from there to here!

Be really glad to get back to an Auto! No more manual gear boxes for me I'm afraid.

Just had phone call from my dealer. My car has arrived and will be able to collect it on Friday at the latest.

Damn you!!

I ordered my 1.2 tsi 85 se estate on the 26th of June and was quoted 12 weeks for delivery. Picking it up this morning so they weren't far wrong. Options were met paint, curtain airbags, fog lights, spare wheel, side strips, mud flaps, boot mat and car mats.

the delays are down to VAG group components coming out of japan, same long delivery delays coming out of europe.. i would expect a wait of 20-26 weeks to be normal now

have ordered a candy white fab 2 vrs estate..dont expect to see it before next april

Dealer has called me again. The car will be ready tomorrow

Just ordered my Monte Carlo 1.6TDI ETA next March. Which to be honest that is fine, as I was looking to replace my existing car next spring.

Ordered a new build Monte Carlo in mid August and was given a delivery estimate of November, but fully expected this to be late this year at the earliest.

Car has arrived at the dealers and we'll pick up this week. Seven weeks from order to delivery, looks like we got very lucky and ordered just at the right time in the cycle.....can't wait!

Only three weeks to go now until build week and I am filled with both excitement and dread. No idea what calamity can happen at this stage that would push it back into a next year collection. I just emailed the dealer to see if it's still on for Oct 17th birthday.

And what a shock - it's been put back again to the 24th. I've got a bad feeling about this...

Well after many months waiting my little stealth bomber has arrived, looks stunning in black will post some pics soon as I have finished driving it.

My Greenline Estate ordered at end of March 2011 & advised at the time as having a 27 week delay & eventually getting a provisional build of week 39 was built last week (40) & is on route to the port

My vRS is being built this week, so it should be with me relatively shortly! I can't wait now, getting very excited :D

Same here. Looking forward to seeing it at the Dealers, choosing my registration and sorting the paperwork.

Ordered week 17, was build week 47...........now has no build week at all!!

Apparently build weeks are currently being updated and re-assigned, if it ends up any later i will not be happy.

royce roberts of hull had a new white greenline 2 in stock on 23/09/11 when I enquired about a diesel fabia on the no vat / 0% offer.

I phoned the dealer on Tuesday (4th October) and they said that the car (Fabia SE Plus 1.6 105) was in the process of being built on the Monday (3rd October 2011).

The dealer then phoned me on Friday to confirm the car had been built and was awaiting shipping.

I called in today to the dealers just to make sure the correct spec car was ordered and it was.

The dealers said it should be there by next week.

So ordered the car on the 15th August 2011 shipping by the 8th October. It's only been a 8 weeks wait. B)

Happy days.

Another email from dealer today, re-affirming that the build week is still currently 43 (24th Oct). This is good. What's better though is that, in the meantime, they've got a 60 plate Fabia vRS in now which I can test drive. Woo-hoo! Anyone know what kind of test drives Skoda dealers offer (eg a quick spin round the block, for the day, 24-hour etc) or is it down to the individual showrooms?

Mine was a supervised 20 minute drive. My Yeti test drive the same dealer lent me the car for a few hours.

Had my update from Vindis - Cambridge.

Car back in the system after dropping out completely, now at week 46.

That's the closest i have been to it so far, just 5 weeks until it's born.

Trying not to get excited, only when it's confirmed can i think that way!

Ordered week 17 (April 27th).

My car is now with the dealer and I'll be travelling down to London to collect it on Friday. I also received a customer satisfaction survey call last week from Skoda Customer Services (actually a survey company engaged by them) and I let them know exactly how unhappy I was.

The dealer has been great throughout and I've no complaints on that score. Here's hoping the car lives up to expectations...

Update: just spoke to the Dealer and the car is scheduled for build this week so it won't be in the country until late October at the earliest.

Ho hum.

Was told by my dealer that car would be with them on Friday tomorrow. Rang dealer today to confirm a few details and chatted to the recpetion lady who asked me what car it was. "A very green Fabia estate" I said. To which she replied "Oooh that's here right now, I hadn't seen one of those before and everyone thought it looked amazing when it arrived" Hehe! Can't wait for the handover.

Charlie

Went to see the car yesterday. Very excited. Paperwork all done, should handover today.

Well my car is STILL due to be built next week. HOOM! Not sure how likely it is for anything to delay it at this stage but I'm getting rather excited now.

Took my preparation form into the dealers yesterday. Thought I'd go ahead any opt for the rubber mats.
