no its a standard wait 25 weeks but could come early the sales man told me high demand those 1.6tdcr engines across the VAG world

Great if you want it now and don't care about the spec.

I went for quite a few options and happy to have in sept (or even october but u suspect the dealer wi be hassling me for a sept reg)

Anyway, post some pics guys. It would be nice to see the montes in different colours

Adamc, you've ordered a really nice spec car but have missed off the most important option which was the only option I was gutted I didn't get...... heated seats!!! Worth their wait in gold, especially at that price! You should see if you can add it still, you will regret it on cold winter days (or any day in Wales  )

Heated seats on cloth is... crap

Heated seats on leather is.... good!

Did debate it but tried them and was like 'meh.. they're aight!'

Sorry....... White with Red interior looks the best. Nice spec. though.

A white Monte with the black grill and headlights would look too much like a Panda (the animal not the fiat) for me. Or do I just have a strange way of looking at things. I seen a white Seat Bocanegra today and looking square on at the front all I could think of was Heath Ledger as the Joker. Check it out next time you see one.

I have a red VRS with black roof on order. I went to the dealers with the intention of ordering a Green and black VRS but they had a red monte in. I liked the colour so much I ordered the Vrs in the same colours.

I've ordered the White 105CR Monte Carlo today too. I saw the black, red and white in the flesh and was drawn to the White instantly. It looks awesome in the flesh and the contrast between the black and White is stunning IMHO. Had to be diesel for me too, I have an Audi TT 170Tdi that's due to go back (lease car) very shortly. 6 month wait isn't too bad for me, we're trading in our old Megane against it and they have given us the price based on the value in 6 months time. MOT and tax aren't due for 7 months so it's a winning situation for me!

Looking at the many posts over the forum in general, not just this thread, I'm worried that so many people seem to accept that waiting 3, 4 or even 6 months is acceptable... It isn't... Whilst I think that expecting it "yesterday" is not really on I do feel that waiting anything more than 8 weeks isn't particularly good service either...

I know people will say that other manufacturers do the same... but that doesn't make it right... I suspect that sooner or later people are going to start shopping with their feet and those manufacturers that don't get their act together will end up the losers...

The sooner the better, I feel...

(OP, I know I've used your thread, but that's just because of the title, I can't believe that something mass produced could take so long, they could produce a hand made car in that time!)

My mother-in-law just ordered a brand new Mazda 3 TS.

She's taking delivery on the 10th May.

Can't beat that.

Manufacturers build and tool factories with expected throughput decided well before a particular model goes on sale. If demand outstrips supply it's not easy to increase production significantly without massive expense of new factories and retooling and this is not practicle on cars at the end of their production run like the Fabia. VAG have other problems when particular engines and gearboxes prove to be very popular across the groups ranges like the smaller TSi's, diesels and DSG's.

Getting it wrong can cause delays and loose potential customers but building over capacity can be massively costly.

What is poor about Skoda is that they should be able to provide a firm build date when you buy a car instead of estimates that move and shift.

Cheers

Lee

I guess a few reasons are the fact they run out of parts - engines, gearboxes, parking sensors and sat nav being the ones most heard of. Luckily I only need the first two :)

I need all 4 :(

I hear what you are saying logiclee, but I still feel that the delays we are witnessing in this forum are unacceptable. If things are that bad (and I suspect that deliveries from VW are partly to blame) then they should pull the proverbial didget out and get it sorted, this is not a new model, its been around for a few years now, any supply problems should have been sorted... Whilst we like Skodas and may possibly wait, there are many people out there who won't... I suspect that Skoda is doing their reputation a lot of harm and have already lost many sales.

Can't understand why they are keeping the 0% Vat offer on when there order books are so full. Surely the best idea would be to pull the offer, allow waiting times to drop a little then start the offer up again.

The 0% vat offer may be getting people into the show rooms but I bet a lot are leaving when they hear the waiting times.

Thinks you all got to remember the skoda weren't expecting a big order from the customers that's cause the delay of being builts, You guys got the offer of free VAT and yet still barking about the timescale.....How about you pay it full price, maybe they would delivery it less than 8 weeks! Mine is the top of the range of monte carlo, expecting it to be 12 to 24 weeks despite it high demands for the monte carlo range and yet I got it VAT free and I am blooody happy!! Give them Skoda a break as well they have offered us a BRILLIANT deals :)

or try and order a polo 1.4 dsg, i was qoute 26-28 weeks

biggest load of bull ive ever read in my life, skoda will not send the cars over to the uk as the £££££££££££ is very poor, the euro is much stronger meaning if they sell in europe they get a better value for thier cars.the six month wait is to see what happens with the uk market.at the end of the day the vag group are not stupid
