One of two updates now, started to have a knocking noise whilst going over speedbump's the other month so knew the dreaded console bushes were on there way out. I made up the tool as to the DIY instructions on the site on here and set about fitting the uprated Cupra bushes aswell as the front Powerflex one's aswell.

One firday afternoon after work I decided the noise my Bosch Super plus blades which I bought last year were doing my head in, so a trip to TPS and I bought a set of genuine Skoda Retro fit flate blade's, and a new rear wiper blade aswell as some screenwash due to being on special at £2.87

Since I bought the car I've wanted the roof wrapped in carbon vinyl, but had held out due to being quoted some silly price's (£340+VAT for example) I finally found a place which was fairly local and not charging silly amounts so I had my roof done on friday morning

I'm buying some new wheel's for the car soon, I really liked the idea of a set of TD Pro Race 3's in white but not sure not with the roof they will suit, any other suggestions from people as to what may suit the look of the car?

I plan on also getting the grill wrapped next weekend once my vinyl turns up

are the mintex discs and pads any good?? £150 for grooved and dimpled all round discs and pads?? i put them in my vectra and the pads rattled in the calipers like a bus ffs

Not had any issue's with the Mintex pad's and Disc's used them on my 110bhp Mini before I had the vRS so they was my first choice when they was due. The pedal feel and stopping power is great.

The company who did my roof removed the Ariel when they did the roof.

Love the roof, I went for matte black on mines. Don't you think black wheels would look better? especially if you get your grill done.

agree black wheels will look better

I'm not sure I'm not really a fan of black wheel's to me they just looks cheap, been having a think this evening regarding some other wheel choice's I could use, which I think will be something different on a Fabia.

Either some Sparco Drift alloys or some

Rota Grid alloys, both in a Bronze colour

Not too bad, they guy's told me I didn't really need to do anything to the vinyl but I had a search on the net and I found something like Meg's last touch, Meg's spray wax or DoDo Juice red mist is good for protecting it. So I've applied a couple of coats of red mist.

Not a massive update really. Recently did a full major service on the car including a gearbox oil change seen as the car has now covered over 44k from new.

I managed to buy a second hand whiteline RARB off a friend who was selling her vRS, I gave it a wire brush and a sand down the other week and finally got round to painting it today.

I intended to rip apart my door's again today and sort out my broken speaker adaptor plates but due to over running on changing a timing belt I didn't get chance too...

My mate will go silly and buy lot's of shiny stuff that takes ages to fit

I'm currently discussing buying a set of TT comp's with the right size tyre's but in need of a refurb. If I buy them I plan on painting the back face of the wheel's and then polishing the front face.

I'm after buying a SS FMIC when I come back from my hol's at the end of this month so hopefully should have some more updates then.

Got round to painting up the brackets in black and managed to fit the RARB this afternoon

The last week or two, I've noticed I've had a few rattles on certain note's on my sound system. I stripped it down and I found my speakers hanging off the door's

20120409_190537.jpg

For some reason all the mounting flange had seemed to melt and cause a failure in the rest of the speaker adaptor plate.I'm not sure but it could of been due to the sealer I used to stick/seal the adaptor to the door,

I took this opportunity to Dynomat the door frames.

20120409_212158.jpg

I'm still currently without front speakers for the time being till I manage to buy some new adaptors hopefully tomorrow. I will look into making some MDF ring's sometime soon when I get some more time.

Been sent some pic's of the Audi TT comps I'm interested in, they seem to be a bit scuffed and look a bit rubbish so not sure about them....

Golf mark 4 adaptors fit mate.

Also, if your sound proofing, I'd do the lot, half the carrier will be a waste of money.

Removing the carrier and doing the bare metal door is the best way. Reduces road noise, and makes speakers sound more punchy. It's bare effort though, especially on facelift models when you have to drill out the rivets.

At minimum, cover the whole carrier. The rattle you hear is from the mech vibrating, tightening up the torx heads and covering the whole carrier will eliminate this.

I did a half job like yourself for the front, and had to do it again because it didnt do anything.
