Perry's if you can find it. 7.5% iirc and best served room/barrel temp.

I love Westons Perry :) My local Sainsbury used to sell it, but have now stopped :( I think Weatherspoons sell it :D

  • 2 months later...

Just discovered Waitrose are doing 'Vintage' Perry (Perry pear) and 'Reserve' Cider (apple). I believe it's made by Westons, but it doesn't really matter because it is lovely. The Perry is 8% and the Apple is 8.2%, so it gets you merry quite quickly :)

Natch seems popular where I live now.

A lot of my new local pals seem to favour this brand.

My other half (Proper West country Girl) says anything

cloudy with straw and rat poo floating about in it will

do the job???

Don't ask me... I don't drink personally. :wonder:

Woodpecker!!

And a really really bad cider.......

Diamond white... BAD teenage memories... Or not as the case may be!!

Anyone used to drink Blastaway in their youth?

Diamond white and castaway in a pint glass..

Guaranteed hangover!!

Stella Artois Cidre...... End of conversation. ;)

Cheers

Dave.

+1

Apparently Koppaberg Apple cider is beyond perfect, but they don't sell it in the UK. If you can source it from the continent, the let me know....

If you want to try some proper Somerset Scrumpy Cyder, then you should get your name down for the Weston Super Mare meet

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/211162-weston-super-mare-meet-no14-sat-29th-october-2011/

The cyder farms we are all going to are highly recommended by the briskodians who have been coming along over the years.

One particular Uber Mod of Briskoda would highly recommend West Croft Cyder.

Cobbledick's Rum Cask (better bright or from the cask than in bottles).

This might also be the same stuff. http://www.ciderclubuk.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_ritz.tpl&product_id=8&category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=5&vmcchk=1&Itemid=5

Brother's Pear Cider and Westons Reserve in bottles are also good.

Heck's Perry on draught was very good at Farnham BF last year.

I don't know if I should start a new thread about this, but there is a recall of 3 batches of Stella Artois Cidre due to the potential for them to explode unexpectedly. The affected products are 568ml bottles sold since the 1st July 2011.

See: http://www.recalluk.com/latest/stella-artois-cidre-recall.aspx

I have 2 bottles of Henry Westons 2010 vintage cider to try tonight with a whopping 8.2% Alc.

Henry Westons

Thats the same same stuff Waitrose sells as their own branded vintage. I bought some more Waitrose/Westons Perry from them yesterday (only a paltry 8% though) :D
