Footwell Lights

Featured Replies

My set have turned up, so they're now on the list of stuff to fit.

What I did notice is that they look very very similar to the boot lights, with one, perhaps, important difference: there's a reflector behind the bulb. I suspect this would be kinda useful in getting more light into the boot as opposed to lighting up the inside of the wing........

The under front seat lighting are exactly the same as the boot ones.

If the kit you got have a back piece on the you can always trade.

There are 2 boxes to tick in vcds

Have you ticked both?

Hi, got them working! Not sure quite how. However during checking I got the right pin, when I removed the white connector the alarm goes off! The tower LEDS I have distort the metal tab so I need smaller ones. I even managed to blow the interior light fuse so had to pop to halfords and get a pack. Anyway its all working now, I have used sticky tabs to fix most of the lights and cable tied the front. Once the correct leds are in and with more daylight, I can fix them correctly. Just having my pot noodle now!

Hi can anyone confirm if the positive feed of the repair wire goes into pin 7 or pin 50 on my facelift 2009 model, and its the white capped connector I'm tapping into , any help greatly appreciated

Not sure about the 09 but it went into pin 50 in my 2012 and 2013 cars.

MY10 = pin #50

Hi!

I tried to install the footwell lights yesterday in my octavia MY12 but without success. I have done everything: pin 50, VCDS coding but nothing happend. I do not have the maxidot. Is there something else I should do? A fuse missing?

BTW. I installed the footlights into a passat of my friend last month so I know the procedure

Pre-fl or fl?

its FL

so u've installed the power source to pin #50 (the white CECM connector)?

u've grounded the negative wire to something metal?

u've coded the following using vcds:-
central electronics -> long coding -> Byte-12: Tick Bite-5
central electronics -> long coding -> Byte-20: Tick Bite-0

should've worked then.

there is no need for a fuse specific to the footwell lights.

I did however, have to remove the fuse panel cover to get parts of the dashboard off.

Yes I have done this. I checked also the pin 50 with multimeter since I tried to install LED lights a tought that the voltage is to low, but I could not measure anything on pin 50.

As I told you I installed the footwell lights my friend's Passat so the procedure should be the same.

I read somewhere that a guy with a reimported car from Italy also has the same problem.

Thanks for the discussion on this guys and bumping the thread.

I've ordered my set of LED footwell lights!

Post your long coding and module part number of the central electrics, module that the wire was plugged in.

I assume you have turned them on in the maxidot?

Gizmo68: I do not have maxidot

I will post the long coding in the evening.

I managed it. I don't know what went wrong last time. I didn't make any coding this time and the lights went on. Maybe you have to close the door and lock the car after coding?. Thanks
