In stock at both Etyres and BlackCircles and these are the first 2 that i have checked.

You also can put a different make on. Hardly Skoda's fault you had a puncture and can't find a tyre is it?!

Is the puncture on a part of the tyre that can be vulcanized?

Can you not just get the puncture plugged ?

He can't, it was in the sidewall. Tyre is scrap. :(

And if you have driven more than a couple of hundred metres on it.

Eh? 205 40 17 is quite a common tyre size?

It is, but he needs a Dunlop to match the other side. I would not want to mix brands on the same axle.

and here My link although £125 is criminal for what is regarded to be a crap tyre.

although in fairness to the OP, most tyre online sites arent upto date with the stock, so maybe they are all sold out. Id be looking at changing to another brand anyway, this would be the perfect excuse for me lol, i might cause a puncture so i can justify it to the wife

Personally I'd bite the bullet and replace both front tyres with a decent pair. I had Dunlops on my Octy vRS from the factory and couldn't wait to get rid of them

Can the dealer not help in any way? Excuse my naivete.

No, it's a puncture, not a defect.

Ah yes good point.

Maybe he could flog the one off the other side as it's pretty much a brand new tyre and get a pair then

Could do that. Some options are nearly half the price of the Dunlops, then ebay the good tyre to make the cost of one back....

Falken 452's would be the cheapest.

If anyone has a car delivered with these tyres

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 205/40 R17 84W Extra Load (god that sentence is burned into my mind)

You can ONLY get the tyres sent from Dunlop... in GERMANY!

No where in the UK stocks them at the moment.

Just though i'd keep everyone up to date with my so far bad experience of Skoda ownership :(

NOT TRUE :

Guys, the wind for it has to be flown in from Czechoslovakia directly! Otherwise the warranty could be trashed.

Mytyres are a German company are sent from Germany.

Failed again!

Try ordering one..If you cant I will apologise :wonder:

Totally sort of maybe off topic, but why would a 1.2TSi need Extra Load tyres? or is it a bit of laziness by Skoda chucking tyres more suited to a nose heavy diesel on a lightweight petrol?
