Don't do It in waders

Featured Replies

Probably asking for trouble with a heading like that.

Just returned from a 14 day fishing holiday in Ireland, wife decided to reverse the Yeti to the side of our holiday bungalow without removing her wet waders, outcome her foot slipped and I now need new rear bumper, rear quarter panel and lighting cluster.

Fortunately everthing still legal and able to finish hols

But after the initial "OH DEAR ME LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE" ********** I calmed down and even though very upset the main thing was no injuries involved.

My insurance have been more than helpful and accesser already arranged.

Anyone know if the above replacement bits are readly available or what sort of time can I expect to wait?

Incidently we did not see another Yeti in the North or South of Ireland in our 14 day stay.

Thanks in advance for any replies all best Bob

You're not strict enough...............................you should have put your foot down emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

It didn't take long for everyone to wade in with the welly jokes :giggle:

I'll get my coat....

Come on guys I know I did leave myself open with the heading but it would be nice to have one or two serious replies about bumpers and panels etc.

There must be a few other unfortunate members who have had scrapes and needed replacement bits.

Did you have to wait any length of time or were they readly available ?

Just a bit apprehensive as we all know the waiting time for new Yetis and hope this has no bearing on replacement parts.

All best Bob

As a fellow fisherman who does sometimes drive the one mile from the river to home in my waders and hopefully a soon to be Yeti owner sorry to hear about your brides mullock and know how it feels when your pride and joy gets damaged.

Hopefully parts wont be a problem as the cars have been around for a couple of years now.

Perhaps as a way of saying sorry you could get her to do it in her waders???

Good luck

Bob,

I'll not join in the witticism (as I can't think of any!!)

Dewi the Yeti is currently sitting in the Bodyshop awaiting repairs to the drivers side front wing, door and headlight, after a "nice" old man confused the brake and accelerator pedals on a single track road in the Forest of Dean.

I work on the principle that metal can be mended, but skin and bones takes longer, and as no-one was hurt, c'est la vie!!

I can confirm that I can safely pilot my Yeti in Orvis size 12 wading boots. Won't try it in the Seven though :wonder:

..... :)

Hi Llangram

Thanks for your reply.

Just been accessed at Kavanaghs in Hereford who are Skoda approved, they say a new bumper and light cluster are needed, but are adament they will be able to straighten out the quarter panel.

They have a good reputation locally and give a 3 year back up so hopefully all will go smoothly.

They also are quite certain parts will be no problem.

I think I remember reading in one of your posts about your bump but wasn't it on the Wye valley side of the Wye not our FOD side, either way I do hope your repair goes well.

looby where did you get the picture of my wife from?

What a lovely pair...

Get well soon! Bob and Graham

Hope you are both quickly back on the road in pristine condition.

PS That lass would be a bit cold down on the Calder behind the dark satanic mills where the sun only shines in mid summer but there are loads of big grayling and trout!

Cheers

Peter

For some reason skirts and bumpers are regularly starting to appear on ebay.
