Show us your winter wheels

......Also what pressure do they need to run at (205/55/R16). My fuel cap only gives me pressures for 17/18s as its a VRS.

try running 32psi (2.2 bar) all round - that's what we've used for the 205/55/16 winters on our vRS for the last two winters and wear is nice and even across the tread.

  • Think we may be drifting off-topic with this one - seeing as no winter wheels photos are being shown Can we agree to disagree and take it to a fresh post if we want to discuss wheel aesthetics?

Brimma may recognise the Seat Alloys.

Were they mine, or just similar?

They were yours, then you sold them Phil and I got them off him when got shot of his Seat. Now on SWMBO's Leon.

Late to this post - but the following might be useful...

Wanted to confirm the accepted tyre load rating for winter tyres on my Scout.

Contacted Skoda UK - here's their reply:-

I have checked with our Technical Department and they have confirmed that on this particular vehicle you can drop down to an 'H'
speed rating.

With regards to load ratings if using the current tyre size (225/50 R17 94W) this cannot be altered and the current load rating
of '94' should be adhered to.

Should you wish to drop a size and fit a different rim you can fit a 6J x 16 ET50 wheel rim fitted with a 205/55 R16 91H tyre.

Not fitting mine until Nov although I may live to regret it! Secondhand Yeti Spitzbergs with 225/50R17 Dunlop Wintersport 4D.

That's one of the sizes I just took off, the others were 245/45s......have fun if there's snow
