B) and to think you nearly didn't go through with it!

That's me in York, in subway waiting on Yates opening lol,

Seats look great. Bet your impressed with them. like the sound of the extra interior items being painted. Will look forward to seeing extra pics

These seats are exactly the same as mine but mine are heated. They were ordered as such before delivery from dealer. Anyone who says they look rank are just jealous. They've got those f.....g horrible nylon black and white things.

Thanks mate. Parts should be dropped of to the sprayers on Saturday when I pick up my cup holder. So should have them back mid next week! B)

Thanks man. Are you referring to my old leather seats then? I don't have the two tone ones anymore.

Got a few jobs to keep me busy now!

My door cards were sent to Seat Surgeons on Friday, which are already done! So I'm arranging return courier for Tuesday.

My sound deadening has come:

2mm silent coat. I've got a fair bit. Enough to cover both front doors with a double layer + carriers, and the whole boot. Plus maybe some extra.

My heavy duty lazy tongue riveter has arrived, along with OEM rivets. And my 4 gauge amp/speaker wiring kit:

And my golf 4 leather arm rest:

Just ordered some golf 4 speakers adaptors also. If I hadn't forgotten about these, I'd be doing the doors today

My dash cup holder is on back order with Skoda :dull:. Annoying as I was meant to drop all the bits off for colour coding today. I'm gonna see if I can do it in two parts as I want my door handle trims done to refit door cards next week.

So job today is fit the arm rest and re-run my x-car-link lead so my iPod is located in the arm rest (primary reason for buying the arm rest).

All doorcard/sound work will hopefully go down next week when I get some time back from work, as next weekend the car is booked in to get the cambelt etc.. done.

where did you get the sound deadening from?

Car audio direct

Arm rest is in and my iPod and lead are fitte into it also. The arm rest came with two grommet holes so was fairly straight forward.

As expected the leather doesn't quite match my seats, so I'm gunna get it sent to Seat Surgeons and retrimmed in the same leather so it's all matches.

Tempted to do a green stitch down the centre, but think thatll be overkill. what do people reckon, retrimmed in all black as it is now (but matching leather), or something else?

Forgot to post pic, it's just a quick phone one:

Looks good I'm liking that, green stitching round the sides maybe if you do decide to get it releathered bud.

how easy did the golf 4 leather arm rest fit in?

Fits in a treat. Although its not an 'officially compatible'. I took inspiration from another member on here and used self tappers in a discreet manner.

Looks perfect as the arm rest fits nicely in place of the cup holder.

+1 :-)

I don't think it's tall enough for for stitching round the edge, the leather section needs a bit more height.

Seats look great  love them

like the arm rest. I agree that some stitching would look good on it. Not entirely sure where tho. I have also thought about getting the gear knob, gaitor, handbrake cover and steering wheel retrimmed to match also. Would look amazing I think :-)

Just had a thought, quilted and perforated armrest?? Winning! Maybe someone can do a photoshop

Yeh that's what Paul has suggested from Seat Surgeons!

It's the logical design for it, just not sure if it'll be too much?

like the arm rest

you get it off ebay?

was tempted to do this with the SE and get it sent to have some blue stiching in

  • Author

Yeh got it from eBay, it's for a mark 4 golf.

cheers tim

i will look into it

Nope won't be too much. Will make it fit in as if it belonged there all the time

Think I will go with the quilt, sending it to Seat Surgeons for them to look at. Thing is, the quilts may have to be sized down to fit....

Other news:

Ordered my 10 JL Audio sub, and 4-channel Ground Zero amplifier. All will be fitted on Thursday!

Loving the arm rest idea mate. How did u do the gloss black surrounds for the heaters? Looks ace
