On the fuel filler flap:

165/70 R14

185/60 R14

195/55 R15

205/45 R16

205/40 R17

and what was fitted by the dealer on purchase were 165/70 tires, but i am quit certain they are wrong as the speedo is off it seems about 6% according to GPS

Shouldn't this be diameter of the wheel, think the " R " stands for Radial

  • Welcome. I find 205/45 R 17 but still XL (reinforced) better than 215/40R 17.   Used both over the past 6 years. as well as 205/40 R 17's.   Many different brands a compounds, All Season / W

OEM sizes do have the speedo showing the car as going faster than it actually is.

I guess if that size is on the fuel filler flap sticker, and was fitted by Skoda, then you are correct about the information about Mk2 Fabia in this thread (and on the workshop-manuals.com site) being incomplete. Interesting that the w-m site lists 175/70R14 as approved, but that doesn't appear on your filler flap sticker. Maybe wherever w-m.com got their info from had that as a typo (could easily be the case in info direct from Skoda/VW Group).

Owners manuals for Germany likely have them showing as suitable for Snow Chain fitment.

I recently purchased a fabia mk2 with OEM 165/70 r14.... Is the list complete or am I missing something.

The 14" tyre option on Skoda Fabia MK1's and MK2's was 165/70R14, and the 14" tyre option on Skoda Fabia MK3's was 175/70R14. They all use the same 5Jx14 ET35 5x100 57.1 rims.

The 14" tyre option on VW Polo MK6 is 185/70R14. This uses a 5Jx14 ET38 5x100 57.1 rim.
