VRS - What was your first mod

Featured Replies

Hey All,

I'm looking at getting myself a VRS in the next couple of months & I'm thinking about budgeting for a few mods & I was just wondering what where your first mods or what would you recommend I go for first??

Thanks

Neil

First mod was tinted windows (B-pillar back). Next was the MDI interface so I could use my iPod through the stereo.

Then I fitted OEM mudflaps, helps keep the sills and the sides of the back bumper stonechip-free.

Got a rear window 'blend' painted and fitted too.

Then coilovers. Then got the wheels painted anthracite before I replaced them with some 19" alloys.

Then colour-coded front grille surround, with the superskoda honeycome insert.

Then de-badeged the bootlid, then changed all the indicator bulbs for silvatec ones so they look silver but flash orange.

Then had the car remapped by/with Ben at Shark Performace (highly recommended).

Best mod, by a long way, was the remap. Currently no plans to do anything more to mine.

I got revo remap and koni fsd's with eibach springs the day after I took delivery of mine.

So far just changed all of the lamps for Silvatec indicators front and rear and white sidelights. The Osram Nightbreakers I have in the main beam will have to go for something more of a match for the xenons.

Full set of genuine Skoda rubber mats.

Haha @ mats!

Me, i haven't changed a thing....

Steve

Nightbreakers in the standard headlights - makes a Hell of a difference. And the addition of a Briskoda sticker on the rear screen, natch.. ;-)

mud flaps on back as dealer only managed to get them on front said the rear was (impossible and they tried) liars! Then remap and finally last ever mod to it is the colour coded grill surround to noob off the mirror that they had bolted on! No further plans as im incredibly cheap!

First ever mod was replace sidelights and reg bulbs got it on Saturday and by the Sunday had changed the bulbs lol.

Next mod on the list is a bigger I/C

my 1st mod:- tyre valve covers ;)

th_skodatyrevalves.jpg

then tinting.

then oem bluetooth(diy) - GSMIII (9wz)

then vcds coding(diy).

I fitted LED footwell lights to match the LED interior lights. Then decided to add additional LED strip lighting to the boot!

Revo stage 1 remap. Best bang for buck mod you can do.

First mod, pre-delivery: paint the wheels

Day of delivery: stubby aerial mast, s-line gear knob, de-badge

After a week; koni fsd and eibachs

After a month or so: Fiscon bluetooth.

Six months-ish: Shark stage 1, Weitec coilovers, TTS shifter.

A year: integrated garmin.

I think that's it? :p

First and only mod was getting the DPF removed and a Jabbasport remap ;)

DNA remap :)

Thanks for all the input guys it's appreciated.

I have AMD Technik by me so think I'll be taking a run there once I have a car & get them to have a look at a map, Forge DV & possibly a short shifter.

They did all the work on my current Leon so know they are good for the work.

Loving the tyre caps they look pretty funky :)

Does anyone have any recommendations for Exhaust's or is the standard one throaty enough?

I'm used to a full Miltek Turbo back on the Cupra you see & want something sounding a little similar ;)

Thanks again

Essential mod especially now winter is nearly upon us.

I changed the rear light clusters and boot badges, from the back mine now looks like a facelift

Put my private plate on.

Then was the Climatronic 'OFF' button modification.

After that I had Skoda change all four injectors and the loom for free.

I also got them to activate the second rear fog light.

After winter I'll have all four wheels powder coated as they are scuffed from the previous owner.

Thought about the mudflaps but they trap more grit and salt behind them and don't seem to be particularly effective either.

170bhp and 52mpg is more than enough for me so no remap!

BSH catch can was the first mod I fitted.

My first Mod was a new baby seat  Trust me you don't want that mod :rofl: yeha

What about the tow bar ya big sook?? :giggle:

My first mod, a sticker

Now you just need a Briskoda one to match it alberg. emoticon-0105-wink.gif
