Funny you should mention that...it's the reason I'm looking at chopping in the Cupra ;)

Mrs Rodimus is pregnant with our first so thought I'd look at something a little bigger & I have a boot full of sub box & amps so can't get a buggy in the Cupra without a mountain of work that I can't be bothered with so going to selling as is...plus the cupra's getting a little long in the tooth & fancy a change (Good a reason as any me thinks ;) lol)

A dog guard and boot liner

This greatly improved the handling by stoppping a rather stupid Springer Spaniel from trying to share the drivers seat with me :giggle:

Extra curry hook in the boot, oh and some LEDs in the interior lighting. That's it.

Total of about ten quid.

Extra curry hook in the boot

Snap - I'd forgotten about that quality addition that's missing from a lot of other cars.

First thing I did was retrofit a columbus.

Then rear mudflaps, boot mat, facelift gearknob, wind deflectors and a forest fresh magic tree :D

Next up is some BBS wheels, a remap (put out over 178 stock last weekend on the dyno), swap the Columbus for a newer version and lower it a tad. I should be happy then.

..some BBS wheels, a remap .. and lower it ..

Sounds like a good plan - keep us posted with progress.

  • 2 weeks later...

how did you do the footwell lights and what is the extra carry hook in the boot??

I am incorrect thinking now my Briskoda sticker was first mod I applied to the car after I made space by removing the stealer's one as he was trying to show me around car in rain and asking where bin was :D:giggle:

The climatronic 'off' mod

First mod, vrs mats, extra curry hook , then Tints all round, wheels powder coated ( smoked chrome) and sessantas vitted, , indicators with siver ones, interior .,sidelights , bootlights and number plate bulbs all LED, Revo remap , lowered springs, stubby Ariel, chrome light switch surround , chrome surrounds on seat pockets, vRS badges on door adjusters, aluminium dials on switches.Tom Tom wired in with holder, Roof, grille, B pillars Wrapped in black magic and rear lights and lower reflectors wrapped darker, Hids, Forge short shifter, Lined door pockets. Spare wheel now a zenith also Powder coated New diverter valve, Uprated battery, brake pads,vRS number plate surrounds front and rear, I think thats it, so far (want full leather from seat surgeons next ) did not realise till I compiled this ,how much I had done, and it is all Briskodas fault! :giggle:

My 1st mod was to fit soundproofing in boot & rear seat area to make the car more bearable at motorway speeds. This is the one area where Skoda have made obvious cost-cutting, compared to VW/Audi etc.

8 miles on the clock and I fitted some Philips X Treme Bulbs, fitted a colour coded grill, de badged the rear and 30 miles later had Eibach/Skoda springs and 15mm rear spacers.

With the lowered look and grill it then looked like it should've out of the factory. Purposeful and sporty.

Slightly off topic, but Bluevrs2 do you have a picture of your car that you could post with the smoked chrome wheels. Cheers.

I considered a remap, but with my mileage I figured 95 unleaded is expensive enough!

The useful (if dull) mod was LED loadspace light & rubber floormat. I windsurf & cycle so dropping a load of black wet wetsuits / muddy boots etc into a black trimmed boot led to damp trim & loosing stuff. The LEDs really do light up the load area and the floormat keeps the drips and scratches controlled. The lights work so well that leaving the tailgate open on a summers evening gets moths in the car. Not great when you have an ultrasonic alarm!

In reverse order of excitement:

*vRS floormats

*Rear window shades

*Connects2 adapter for non-mp3 Stream HU

*Retrofit jumbo box/centre armrest with added 12v socket

*Remap

...New diverter valve...

Where did you get this done and can you remember a rough price? Think I'll have to get mine sorted soonish, though might look at fitting myself.

Plenty of pics of Blu's vRS in the main mod pic thread: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/151725-you-are-doing-it-right-the-big-skoda-octavia-ii-picture-tread/page__st__760

Searching for his older username "bluvrs" should bring em up.

A boot liner tray. And by far the most useful mod of the car. :D

I am about the only one on here using AMD their map and RR session on my TSI has been excellent and I am still using 95 ron.

I know they did have some good Millitek and Weitech offers a couple of weeks ago when I enquired.

Most stage 1 remaps will run on either 95 or 98 and can be tuned accordingly.

My first mod was dragging the car into my mates yard and stripping the front end off :). Done a few little bits to it since then haha ;)!

ps I came from a leon cupra to the vRS estate for the exact same reasons (baby) and also the dog will be taking up the passenger seat now so the boot is for the missus :).

Also said that I would not modify this one, but I knew that was a lie as soon as it left my mouth. I don't want a perfect car as I would be bored, just a cracker with loads of potential which the octavia has. Enjoy
