Ps3 v xbox 360

Featured Replies

Let's be having it then, which is it for everyone?

I've owned both and currently own a ps3 I do like not paying for Internet but the xbox online is 100 tines better, you can have a party chat easy to read messages, seems to be more stable, it's xbox for me, they also have the best games on xbox only, the best playstation have is gt5, but that was overrated, metal gear solid is to be on xbox soon.

So let's do it like this at the bottom of your rant put ps3 or xbox.

Xbox

Ive got both now. I like the ps for not having to pay for online and i like that its blue ray.

I think the xbox graphics are much better and smoother gameplay. Aint really played online, ive got 30 days free for now.

Im torn between them.

Own both and my PS3 is in its box collecting lovely amounts of dust. The blueray is ok and the build quality minus the controller feels better than the xbox. But the exclusive games are no were near as good as the xboxs. The only saving grace for me was metal gear and little big planet, and the fact you can download old retro games on to the machine. More importantly the internet experince is shocking! The in game chat is a joke, the menus are a mess, most games are riddled with laggy servers its pretty shocking really.

I think its quiet clear now that the xbox has taken place as the ultimate next gen gaming machine

Xbox!

Xbox

That is all

B)

I've got both!

Xbox is heavily used and I only dust the PS3 off when there's a PS3 exclusive that's any good (so far it's the Uncharted series and Heavy Rain - other stuff is crap!).

I had both, well my step-dad did. Then I moved out and had neither lol, but once I had enough furniture to justify a console, I decided the PS3 wasnt worth the extra over the xbox. Until now I was always a sony fanboy, but £125 for a xbox? Ok I dont have GT, but I have Forza which IMO easily matches GT4. Apart from that, everything I play is on both formats.

No difference really, the best one is the one your mates have. :)

Lots of difference IMO especially online, selection of games and the main menu!

I've got both, and theres very little to chose between them.

For me its all down to the controller. The PS3 controller feels like a childs toy to me. I just cant get on with it.

I mostly game on the 360, but im sure i'd dust the PS3 off more, if it had a decent controller.

I can't play PS3 as long because my hands cramp up on the tiny controller.

I liked the original Xbox pad - man size! :D

I've had PS One, PS2, PS3 and when the next one comes out I will be getting that too.

Got my PS3 early 2007 and it had a 60Gb HDD, the memory card readers and the ability to play PS One and PS2 games. Since then I've chucked in a 120Gb HDD as I had one laying around and fancied more space but otherwise its still the original hardware.

The memory card reader has been great, uploading photo's to the HDD and then running a slideshow.

Ive not downloaded any movies to watch on it yet so cant comment on that. I have watched iPlayer and that is better than on a PC.

BluRay is just excellent, full stop.

As for gaming, I think I only have six games at the most. It does what I need it to perfectly, it has been stable and very reliable.

I do like Kinect on the Xbox and that would be the only reason I would get one - IMO the controllers are made for children and feel a bit rubbish.

So...

PS3 easily

I was the first of my 'group' to get a 360/PS3, so can't help but think that would sway the choice of others a bit (as said, the best one is the one your friends have). I got a 360 though, despite always being Sony before hand.

I got it purely as it was cheaper, and the PS controllers are horrid to hold (they give my hand cramp), flimsy, the triggers aren't triggers, just long buttons, and at that point, didn't even vibrate. I also didn't need the mutlimedia features that the PS3 has, computers can do it all anyway. . .

A few friends have both, and they all use the 360 more than the PS3 too.

I'm a sony games console fan. Had a Playstation, PSone, PS2 and PS2 Slim

I'm on my 2nd ps3 now, first 60gb one went YLOD on me, shortly after

having a replacement laser fitted DOH. I was without one for approximately 8 hours

before I bought another :D Bought the 250gb slim version the 2nd time.

Simply couldn't be without one, I use all of the features it has including

lovefilm, BBC, ITV and 4OD. I keep hundreds of photos and albums on it,

The PS3 is ideal for me, I use the internet browser all the time

often getting my Brisky fix on it. I order dominos pizza via it and like

the fact that it plays more or less anything that goes on a compact disc,

I really like the controllers, I think it's amazing that they

have managed to fit sixaxis, analogue sticks and buttons,

vibration and a battery into the same size controller as the ps1.

I can't get on with the xbox controllers, mostly because the

sticks aren't level, but I will concede that the online stuff is better.

Don't think I'll defect though.

Ive had 3 PS3's now lol. 32 days of game time on COD MW2 prob killed them

Ive had an xbox and changed to a ps3, i got fed up with Microsoft ripping ppl of with a of £40 charge just for playing on-line, plus ive had the ring of death appear in the past, i think the ps3 is the better all around entertainment system, but the xbox is better as a gaming machine i think the ps3 is lacking in the gaming department ie demos, trailers. looking forward to MW3

i've got both, to be honest the PS3 only really gets used for playing Blu Rays and the occasional PS3 only games such as Heavy Rain, as for a games console I think the 360 is better, better built, better controller and better games. Plus the Xbox Live is far better than the Playstation Network. still tho, the Dreamcast rules for all!!!!

I have a PS3, mainly for it's bluray drive and as a media centre. I won't get many games for it anyway, as I do all my gaming on the PC.

I have both. Each are good at something.

I see the xbox as a games machine, and the PS3 as a media extender that happens to play games.

I prefer the xbox controller, and the larger (better) game library, but the PS3 can't be beaten for media streaming or TV on demand.

Both throw off far to much heat though...

I've got both, I use the xbox way more for games, and the PS3 is basically a blueray player.

I don't know why but for some reason I get online for free? I have to pay to download certain stuff if that's what you mean but I haven't actually paid to use an online service?

With new xbox consoles, you used to get 1 years free online for (IIRC) 3 profiles.

Ive got a xbox, Been a sony boy up until a few years ago when I was fed up of waiting for the PS3 to come out.

Now I will never go back. The controller is much better laid out, the console price is much lower, £3 a month for trouble/hassle free online gaming and the exlusive games are much better. Also developers use the xbox and PC to develop the games then transfer them to PS3 format, so you normally get better graphics on the xbox version of the same game.

Oh, and Bluray is terribly slow to read from the disc, that's why most PS3 games force you to install them.

...so you normally get better graphics on the xbox version of the same game.....

Utter tosh.

When you get down to the actual gaming there really is little overall difference between the consoles. I have both, though my 360 died so its lobbed in the roof. Mind you I mostly game on PC these days. :p

Utter tosh.

Nope, there is actually a site that compares games side my side and the Xbox gives the better image quality most of the time!

Xbox..
