No swedish tuners need a demo car?

  • Author

Afraid not, there is both pro's and con's with that.

Pro with having a tuner backing you up is that they usually have some funds and knowledge.

Con is the swedish tuner-scene, the big ones are still stuck in Volvo & SAAB here.

The tuner that I have talked with before have claimed that 210 hp is the limit for the injectors, the stock rods will bend at 240 hp and pistons will release themself at 260 hp...

So no, I'm not a big fan off some tuners over here.

Overall, only 2 have shown some kind off knowledge in the VAG-scene and 1 off them is already crossed off the list due to their "only the parts that sponsor us cause everything else sucks and it doesn't matter if you prove us wrong.".

That mentally... that doesn't work with me ;).

Headgasket is intact, just trying to work out a deal between me and my job and it's back to building again :D!

Sorry to hear this mate. Which turbo has gone, the uprated one or stock?

  • Author

It's the stockturbo that is gone, haven't decided yet about where to map it since I'm talking with a firm which has done quite a good impression on me over the last days here on the forums.

Hopefully they can sort everything there with mapping the car and the DSG-gearbox, so I can focus on building and driving instead =D!

Just cross those fingers and hope everything sorts out ;)!

You can have my LO270 if you want lol.

Its a frustrating car this one.

  • Author

Hehe, dunno what you want for the loba...

But does it really work with stockmap?

I'm doing some minor tuning stuff and these guys have done some very interesting changes to an Ibiza. Saw it and though about both of you (Confide/vRSy)

Except the launch control software wise they have disabled the kick-down, upped the rev limit and also, if clients asks, a manual mode (that last bit I'm not sure what exactly means).

Seen the video, really like it and I hope to get that too :).

Upped revlimit is really nice, since the revlimiter enginewise is 7200 rpm while the gearbox shifts at 7000 rpm!

Will be good to make use off those extra rpm it unlocks (my wild guessing is that I'll land on almost 7500 rpm).

Manual mode is something that people are requesting.

It's when you are in manual and you hit the "rev-limiter", it doesn't shift up automaticly.

I wouldn't go for that, but for those who want it to behave more like a manual it's one way to go.

Me personally, I would skip that :).

Woops, guess that I will go with screamer-pipe anyways ;).

I know the exhaust is wrong way around, a welder-friend off mine is going to help me turn it around :).

Was doing some brake-work on my Skoda and exhaust-work on the SAAB when a friend off mine remember that he had a seat with an airbag that needed to be removed.

With removed, he means triggered... Enjoy!

EDIT : it's abit loud...

A new Rollei Full-HD camera have been purchased so I can record and relive all activitys!

Also, all hoses and connectors have been ordered.

So now it's just up for the mail-service to deliver all stuff, then the building shall commence!

So this weekend, the position for the microphone will be determined. Also, I will roll my fenders since it's scrapes when you got people in the back-seat!

I wish there was some performance-mods I could do, but I don't think the workshop will be open =/.

So, here comes some more pictures!

Sadly, the last bits for the turbo-conversion didn't arrive =(.
