I don't think you shoulf be too upset with 225BHP on such a hot day. I hope you've been "testing" the car vigourously :D

Don't forget, your car will need plenty of exercise over the weekend wiggle.gif

See ya :)

Man, I can't wait to get that redundancy payment so I can get re-mapped too!

Well, get the car re-mapped, not me.

Sounds like he should just about have perfected tuning the 1.8T by the time I get my 4X4 done...

Jabba certainly seem to be making a name for themselves.....one of my customers has had his A41.8Tq chipped -- from a standard 150bhp they acheived 226bhp.

He let me drive it today......oooh baby!!! --- gotogetitgotogetit :D

I deffinitely want to get in on the next group by, will have to phone insurance company today to see what they say about a mod though!

Guess that's the same engine variant as the Octavia 4x4 then - that's the standard result...

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

Just got off the phone to Hill House Hammond. They would have to change policy from current underwriter to Cornhill, as they are the only company they use who would consider the mod. They would want an 'engineers report' before the mod to say what it would do. Then they would want an explanation of why i want the mod. My current insurance is round the

Try Direct Line. They quoted me an extra 80 quid on top of my usual

Dab

I'd wait until the policy is nearly due, do your research/phoning round, then change insurer (as long as you stay with a decent one).

Had a similar problem with Norwich Union a few years ago ;) who wanted a 35% increase.

Never been back since. Try Privilege ?

cheers witchfinder ;)

Cheers fab, policy not due till January, pay monthly at the moment so assume I can just move policy whenever and stop paying current one. DL will be a little cheaper, so might move to them anyway, then phone them and ask about mod.

Fed up, wanted to get jabbed asap.

I'm just wafting along on jabba-torque and changing up at 3000rpm today - why rush when the weather is like this? ;)

With the climate control on full it sounds like you are going fast anyway :D

Des,

Please stop tempting me :( If I was to suggest anything other than petrol getting spent on Nutty to SWMBO, I'd get lynched :( :(

This isn't quite true - my darling missus has agreed to the car getting Swissol'd at the September meet :) So I just need to get in touch with the Wax Wizard and arrange that.

Laters

Mark,

You will be able to see my Swissol-enabled beast at the NE meet.

I spent a good couple of hours cleaning my car on Saturday to, what I would describe as, no avail :(

It was obviously clean but I was not happy with the shine so that is what has convinced me to go for the Swissol - that and the pain-in-the-ass that is getting squished flies off the front end :(

Cheers all

Jabba'd last Friday

Results - fantastic

My car is only a month old and only has 3500 miles on the clock - so the engine is still a bit tight.

I only use 95 fuel - so Mike did not go for the higher boost settings.

On a hot day, with 95 fuel my power went from 181.1 to 222.1 & the torque went up from 236.0 to 305.5 Nm

Mike reckons these figures will improve considereably once the engine gets above 10000 miles. (at my rate of miles that should be by August!!!)

The people at Jabba were fantastic and I will highly recommend them.

Funnily enough my car has a colour satnav system fitted.

One thing this does is give you stats on your journey - miles travelled, max speed, average speed etc.

I had already set it up for the home journey whem we arrived at Jabba.

After the remap, I noticed that the max speed (on the rolling road!) was 154mph!!! and it had travelled 24 miles (without going anywhere!!!!)

Steve

Just got back from Jabba, so will post full results later...a good day although a tad too hot, which is reflected in the results....

There is I think a pattern emerging here. Newer cars are running around 181 standard, older models like mine were running around 190 standard. Looks like Mr Skoda has changed the ECU map to a more realistic level.

Martin, looking forward to the full report.
