Adrian, hopefully better than my 227 with full system inc cat. Well that was with 95 ron ul.

Hopefully Manny.

from all the figures that we know of the is quite a spread of values.

For unleaded map we've seen 218bhp (Fabpreza) 227bhp for yourself (with full fat Milltek as opposed to the lite variety). So the exhaust gives you 10bhp and probably a lot more torque).

For Optimax Ian got 222bhp and Mark 232.8bhp. IIRC RSPikalou got somewher ein the region of 230bhp as well.

So assuming you had gone the Optimax route you would probably have seen around 237bhp (Des' give 240bhp) so, figures are as expected I suppose.

After a few days of "testing" what you reckon now? must admit it took me a good few weeks to getting used to the RS' power delivery after coming froma diesel.

Enjoy.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Hmmm....wonder how many people will be interested in me organising another one?;)

Adrian, I for one would put my name down for another group re-map. Just need to transfer a few quid into a 'secret' location over the next few months while SWMBO aint looking.......

Decisions, decisions....

I might be interested, but I have some doubts:-

  • Would I see any benefit, given that my driving style is more chauffeur than Schumacher?
  • Could the automatic transmission cope with the extra BHP?
  • Do I want to keep the car a few more years to reap the benefit?

Count me in as a definite maybe :)

Definately interested this time round. As long as my redundancy payment turns out to be as big as I hope it's going to be!

Shame that's how you're coming by the money Rob :(

But if something good can come from something sh!t then, what the hell :)

I hope the god of "finding a new job soon" sorts you out mate :D

Mark, congrats - those are super figures for a standard, standard, standard car :D

I had a new job to go to within hours of finding out. The IT market is very depressed at the moment, so it pays to have contacts! Thanks for the kind sentiment.

Re Ultimate Ro-Ro Figures

Try and get there on a cold, damp/wet day - something like mid February is worth another 5bhp :)

Even us 4x4 owners draw the line at one foot of snow:D

I won't see much from my current location...

still in bed due to a last minute decision to have a week off hahaha

Going any where specific? I'll keeps me peepers open, when i eventually fall out of bed ;)

  • Author

Nowhere specific - just "anywhere" lol

congrats on the remap... sounds like fun... should have the results of mine soon..;)

congrats mark on re-map. my 4x4 was re-mapped about 2 months ago by jabba . my figures are:-

engine 171.0 (232.4)

wheel 133.1(180.8)

dissipate 38.0(51.6)

rule 179.5(243.9)

max couple 329.7 nm

with similar figures i know exactly how you feel:D :D

happy motoring m8 :)

regds ect

  • Author

ect,

it's that 0.4 BHP that makes all the difference though ;)

the only bad thing i've noticed is my mpg has gone through the floor - could have something to do with the fact i've been demo'ing the car to all and sundry lol

cheers :D

panric,

hav,ent noticed any difference in mpg since re-map although i don,t cover a lot of mile (4x4 now a year old ,6500 miles) so it does,nt get a lot of thrashing. never mind , a small price to pay for a whole load of laughs:D

regds ect:cheers:

Re MPG

Same as ect above - mpg is no different unless you fancy some fun. Now the novelty value has worn off I find myself using the torque and not driving much over 5000rpm unless someone 'tries it on' :)

Graham (Bandit1),

you were up to be Jabba-ered today; so what's the story then?

Must admit pretty "crap" day for remap; too much heat.

Hoping there will be drop in temp. next week when I go; forecast deosn't look good though........we're having more good weather. ;)

I assume that although the figures on the day may not look so good they'll actually be better once the ambient temp. comes down?

Cheers.

Adrian.

p.s 5 days to Jabba time.:D

Adrian

I really wouldn't get too concerned about the on-the-day rolling road figure. I asked for a safe 'unleaded usually' re-map and its been on the ro-ro twice with 218 & 220bhp in 26 degrees heat.

As humidity, temperature, fuel type, air filter condition all play a part, just be happy in the knowledge that you have as much power as an Impreza Turbo. As it happens, my 'tweaked' 99MY Impreza varied by 9bhp on different days and it made no difference to the feel of the performance.

No if we were talking different Turbo or FMIC or whatever with 280bhp, that WOULD be different !

Its all in the way that it drives :)

Morning All,

Yes it was a pretty Crap day for a re-map, The Shell garage on the way down was out of Optimax, so I to settle for BP S.U.L.

I knew it was a hot day when all of the staff at Jabba were in Shorts, T Shirt & Ice Cream mode !!

Elton did the usual checks & ran the car up. It was giving 181.6 power & 240.9Nm Torque.

They both spent a long time trying to get it to run at its best, but with a combination of the outside ambient temp(34'), the temp in the RR bay (40'+) & what seemed to be sub standard fuel, Mike & Elton were a little disappointed with 225.3 & 285.4 Nm.

The car drives with a greater sense of urgency & mid range punch, It actually feels like it should have been like this from the beginning!

I did however experience the same symptoms as Mellow on the way home (Not smooth coming off boost around 3,000 rpm) To be fair to Jabba, there could not have been a worse day to set up the car, they did say that if I had any problems I could give them a call. (I have tried this morning but the ansaphone is still on).

The staff there are all committed to making sure that you are more than happy, Mikes Dad is a great character, I spent over an hour talking old Motorcycles & just generally "Chewing the Fat"

I will dig out my scanner & post the Re-Map.

:drive1:

Graham
