This should really be a FMIC discussion and a new thread made for the group buy I think its got a bit out of hand now! But I will be putting better pics of my intercooler install up at the weekend hopefully cause ive got to have the bumper back off to fix a small leak on the map port I made.

Just got my forge map pipe! Very impressed with it and would recommend to anybody who decides to put their own kit together only £37 delivered comes with adapters for all different sized sensors.

and some mikalor clamps because they are 1000000% better than jubilee clips

Not been on here in while as fabia off road for winter but this intercooler I've got money waiting...answer few question and Ill take one if I can?

Do I need to buy anything or is it all in the kit?

Any cutting required of car body or parts?

Does it come with mounts to bolt to the crash bar?

Is this simply off with the old and fit everything of this one?

Everything you need is in the kit

You will quite likely need to trim the bumper a little bit and you need to do some modifications to 1 or 2 existing intercooler pipes I believe. Nothing big but does mean going back to original will mean you need to replace the pipes you modify if that bothers you.

Does it come with mounts to bolt to the crash bar?

Comes with all the bits to mount it but make sure you have some sharp drill bits for drilling through the crash bar as its rather hard!

Is this simply off with the old and fit everything of this one?

Pretty much little bit of cutting on the pipes as mentioned and maybe a little trim of the bumper but pretty much off with the old and on with the new

Everything is in the kit that you need however as its for an ibiza you will have to have a afternoon set aside to fit it but once fitted correctly very little modification to your car is needed

What do you have to do the the pipes on the car to make this fit? Also have they changed the piping to 2"?

Above : You see the pipe on the left that goes into the top of the intercooler I believe the metal part of this needs cutting off so you are left with a normal rubber hose you can push the map connector pipe into as shown below

This bottom pipe that runs next to the sump looks to have been cut down to remove the push clip fitting to allow the pipe to be pushed over. On mine i heated the pipe up and pushed it over the larger push clip connection so I didnt have to cut the pipe but not sure if possible on this kit?

Tiz is that lower pipe that the red hose is connected to made from rubber? or is it metal?

When I fit my kit I am going to mount the IC and then take my time with the pipe work and get any pipe work that can be hard mounted welded with brackets.

The one below the crank pulley that runs along the side of the sump? Its an alloy pipe

When I did mine it looks like there are some decent spots to bolt a bracket or 2 to. I am going to weld brackets on mine at the weekend as its just temp cable tied up at the moment while testing but all my pipework is going to be black with blue hoses. I will try and get some pictures of where it could bolt to the engine I dont think there would be any value in bolting it to the plastic under the rad like in your pic would there as its not very strong?

its just hanging hence people complain about them a lot when they pop off under high boost they just flap around everywhere.

I will have a look to see if that can have some form of bracket welded to it also then, cheers Tiz.

Might be a pain getting a bracket welded on there. I would just brace the long pipe going across the front of the sump. Ive already covered 500 miles with my temp cable tie effort and had no problems at all. Plus its an alloy so harder to get somebody to do a decent weld on it rather than the stainless pipe which is easy to weld.

I am out unfortunately but only because I had these bits laying about in the end

In Lee's paint diagram, what is that black bar he has illustrated the welded brackets going to? material also?
