Buy a Seat one, or buy the Seat styled Forge one.

Can't get better than an OEM fit.

Would the forge seat style one fit? I've been looking to know this :)

Do forge do a seat sport style one now? Holes in the same place as the standard one? * goes to investigate *

yes had it fitted to my Ibiza last week :) its a nice kit! £595 retail e parts sell it for 535 tho. Not 100% sure if it fits furby but uses exact same fitting style as a SS cooler

It`ll be as much work as it was to fit the original seat sport i`d have thought. Wonder if there is any gains to be had from it.

I hate the process of hacking your bumper and slam panel to fit it though.

Look at number 7 in this list:

That would be perfect for the Fabia. Perfect size for lower grill and the one side comes out the rear, meaning you simply run a 90 degree pipe off the back of that, and length across the back of the FMIC.

Exactly the same route as this one, except you're using 90 degree pipe over 180 because of the difference in hole location:

That's the type of kit we need to be pushing for.

Id be happy to spend a little more for a kit that fit, The forge No7 cooler looks like its made to fit. Just need the pipe work sorting.

X2.

I just mounted a huge skyline gtr intercooler to my seat. Here it is just propped up by an underseal can and a jack(sits a lot higher now its mounted)

Cant run fogs anymore as it is a big intercooler but now the bumper is back on you cant really tell its there apare from the lack of fogs. Only took me a day to fit made all the pipework myself. Cost me nothing cause I already had everything.

Before(standard sidemount):

Outside Temp: 6°c

Peak Inlet Temp: 106.4°c(how bloody hot??)

After(GTR cooler):

Outside Temp: 10°c

Peak Inlet Temp: 20.1°c

Engine spec : PD130, Angel tuning generic map, port and polished inlet manifold, EGR deleted and ported out(kept anti shudder valve), Full miltek exhaust including decat downpipe, PD160 intake. Covered 120k miles.

It used to really die out about 3500rpm but it feels like there is another kick at 3500 now and it pulls all the way to the redline without any hassle at all it really feels like a different car to drive. Absolutely no difference in when the boost comes in that I can notice and only showing a couple of RPM difference in the logs. This is with all 2.5" piping, giant skyline GTR intercooler with 3" inlets. Vag com logs showing bob on 400nm of torque.

I really cant stress enough how much better it is with a front mount cooler on and can safely put to bed the thoughts of "that will cause loads of lag" as im running a similar pipe route to the ebay cooler but with pretty big 2.5" piping all the way from the turbo to EGR(apart fromt the 3" reducers from the intercooler)

Any more pics of it installed? How have you run the pipework back from the rightside of the i/c back into the inlet?

The cooler wouldnt be that

Much bigger than the seat sport one If any

didnt get chance had a 12 hour day on it and was shattered! From the EGR, 90degree silicone bend, straight piece of hard pipe, 45degree silicone bend then hardpipe thats a J so 90 and decent length straight into the straight 3" to 2.5" deducer. I have the MAP sensor mounted on the J pipe.

From hotside ive got 3" to 2.5" reducer, 45degree bend hard pipe, 90 degree silicone then hard pipe along the bottom similar to the ebay kit with a 90 degree silicone bend onto the hard pipe that runs next to the sump

Bends perhaps seem a tad weird because if you look at a GTR intercooler the inlets curve back. They have the best designed end tanks though and can support big power.

Have you got the dimensions for the seat sport one? I did look around but couldnt find anything. Seems to be a lot of wasted frontal area with those type intercoolers behind the bumper and crash bar. Twin pass ones arent very effecient either compared to a single pass

I've been trying to persuade Forge to list the Seat Sport cooloer they sell for the Ibiza pd130 for our Fabia's

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/213393-seat-sport-style-fmic-for-pd130-ibiza/

Add youselves if interested, hopefully Forge will act on it and get it trial fitted to a Fabia soon.

Already done....but I know how slow Forge can be when it comes to developing new stuff. Not having dig at them - just that they are a victim of their own success.

If it fits to the original pipework then it`ll fit with the Seat Sport piping to the fabia. The thing with forge is, in the past in my experience, they`ll only list something fitting a car if it fits without having to cut things and make irreversible changes to the original parts on the car which is understandable. Due to the design of the bumper/crash bar on the fabia, trimming is needed to fit the SS cooler, so i`d be surprised if forge listed it.

Would something like this univeral intercooler and pipework not fit? 170694773848 I guess not but want an intercooler sooner rather then later!

thats the same intercooler as in the kit advertised in this group buy. You still need to get a MAP pipe or have the piping modified to take the sensor. TBH considering there isnt much difference in price id jump on the group buy and get the kit

I had seen that kit but to be honest you'll need a map port plus a few silicon joints which could end up costing more than the 200 for group buy

Having looked at the eBay kit and got out the measuring tape last night...

I reckon that 550x140 (say 690x160 overall including mounts) is the biggest core that will fit under the bumnper bar. That'd probably be touching the undertray just...

If you went for a thinner intercooler (say 40mm), then it's possible to go at least 500x300 and possibly more. Bonnet and latch become an issue when going much taller. There are also a couple of dual thickness intercoolers (say 80 and 40mm) around aimed at the new MINI. Also, several SAAB OEMs seem thin. They won't hold boost (2bar?) though IMO.

For a cheap intercooler installation that's going to better the factory job it's hard to argue against £200 for an under the bumper-bar intercooler.

I agree. This kit is FANTASTIC value for money, its essentially bolt on with maybe only a tiny bit of trimming needed. You can easily make the pipework fit nicely with a bit of faffing.

I also found out from the seller the piping is made from STAINLESS STEEL so very easy to have tabs welded on should you want your pipework bolted to something solid.

If i buy it, You can fit it for me  ...... Small charge of course :smirk:
