hmmm that pipework does look a bit of a hash up really. How low does that bottom pipe actually hang with the bumper back on?

It's too low to re-fit the bottom tray without the bottom tray holding up the pipework if that makes sense. i've tied mine up a bit, havn't had any issue so far with it scraping the floor

I dont know if its the kit youve been provided or just poor fitting but the guy earlier on in this thread didnt have to cut any of the bumper or grills?

as standard height though? Im pretty low in my ibiza, tucking tyre on the standard 16s and looking to go a tad lower if i buy the compomotives i want. Dont suppose you could do a shot of the under plane of the car to show what hangs lowest?

I think your right, I checked back to that when i see what you mentioned. Looks like VRS-CARL has fitted his too far forward it looks like it fits VERY nicely on the one shown earlier in the thread. Hope we get this before the end of Jan i'd like to get mine fitted before cadwell park track day!

Oh yes I am looking to order at the start of Jan for mine so fingers crossed we get the 4 people we need.

I've mounted the kit further forward so the hoses line up nicely with the vents however, this does not change the fact the pipework shipped in incorrect, this also does not change the fact the pipework hangs low on the passengers side 90 degree bend. i've temporarily had to cable-tie it up while I come up with a better solution.

Have you seen the previous posters pictures of his kit fitted? Fits nicely.

Oh and not enough clamps were provided... Just a right bodge of a kit I was provided with. if I hadn't already cut my standard IC pipe to fit it i'd have sent it straight back.

I'm not saying it doesn't fit... i'm just saying the quality of the kit is poor, and the parts provided were incorrect in my case.

Measure twice cut once as they say.

You have been supplied with the wrong pipe work it sounds, have you tried contacting joe or jack from jbi direct via ebay? the phone isnt the best.

Having looked at both sets of piccies...

That lowest pipe, the lowest part of it seems to be the bottom 90 degree silicone. It's possibly down to the angle required off that end of the cooler to get past the shrouding and metalwork.

Question 1 is whether fitting the cooler the other way up is possible, with the inlet/outlet nearer the floor. Question 2 is whether that would get you a better angle or clearance for the pipework. Another way I could see it being done would be to have a small angle in either metal or silicone where the pipework goes under the front end from the cooler.

On the original Facebook install...

- Box section and long bolts mount the cooler behind the crash bar.

- Minor trimming is done of the bumper, wheelarch liner or similar in the region of the MAP sensor on the offside.

- Pipework is the "original" (?!) 57mm rather than the revised 51mm.

Hello,

Have you seen the piccies on Facebook?

Hopefully that lot might save you trimming the grilles and help see whether that bottom silicone can go higher.

im getting slightly put off now lol,

I dont like how all the cable ties are holding that long pit of pipe up, TBF i think both fittments just look bad.

Sooner or later them canle ties are going to strtch/fail... and pipe work is just going to dump everywhere?

The second one is clearly wrong lol

If those lower down joints fail, is that pipe likely to dig into the road? (Can't make out the angles.)

If so, I dread to think what damage that could do! A lot of force to put against it!

Wow that pic looks terrible

Is this kit worth buying?

Seriously going to avoid this now.

Regarding how much power an intercooler can handle. Surely this is down to the turbo? If the turbo gives of more heat then the intercooler has a harder job of cooling it down?

So wouldn't a larger turbo with less boost be easier to cool than a smaller turbo with lots of boost?

Is any one willing to log intake temps with VCDS to see how effective (or not) it is?

Im out, Fittment of the pipes look to slap dash, dont want my pipe work held together with cable ties.

I think with this you do get what you pay for.

I don't think its 3 times less an intercooler though. Just takes a bit of intelligence with the pipe fitting to make it nice and neat. The cable ties are only holding up the piping into a neater place they aren't structural to it. You'd be suprised what cable ties can hold! On my skyline being a drifter they are using a bloody lot and do a very nice job.

Considering all the changes and swapping around VRS carl did I don't really think you can judge the kit by that.

At the end of the day if you was really worried about the PERFECT 2 minute fit job you would stump up for the forge. Paying so little for an entire kit should tell you your probably going to have to do some jigging about to get it to fit perfectly.
