The Twins. (And Yeti RS)

Featured Replies

In non-colour related news, my K04 turbo conversion should be here next week.

Found an APR dealer 18 miles from work who will provide the full kit including exhaust, intercooler, air intake and turbo parts.

They just have to zap my ECU and when we've fitted it, it's ready to go. :)

List to do before Castle Combe is:

K04 with air intake, exhaust and intercooler.

Front and rear big brake kit.

Suspension.

ARBs.

Oil cooler.

Uprate clutch.

Two decent front seats.

Lose as much weight as possible.

Colour change.

Wheel change.

15 weeks to go...

don't you already have two decent front seats in YET1?

Cayenne orange metallic is a nice colour, orangey red

When my corner scales arrive I'll brim the tank and weigh it before starting work.

Then see what kind of weight loss is possible.

In an ideal world I'd like to get about 150kg out of the car.

I've seen the Kerbweight claimed about 1550kg.

With 320bhp that gives 206bhp per tonne.

IF it's down at 1400kg I'm looking at 228bhp per tonne.

A nice improvement!

They are the 3kg Carbon Fibre buckets from the Citigo.

I just borrowed them for Castle Combe last time.

Will look at something I can use for drives to track days, the buckets are great but I get a numb leg after a few hours due to minimal padding.

Fine when you arrive though.

15 weeks to go...

Look what I found71cce091cc9b3b2a2d54b43be6b35c7f_zps6a1e

Put it back where you found it!

Wow, the yeti is surprisingly light, my TT's V5 states 1550kg laden with fluids and a 1470kg empty!

My V6 Golf is stripped out and still weighs 1380kg but that is with me in there too and a full tank of petrol.

Cayenne orange metallic is a nice colour, orangey red

and very good it looks on a Yeti too...

Looking forward to seeing the final result whatever the colour ends up being

Good to see it progressing further performance wise

And I got bored

Yes, considering it has the modern safety kit which makes cars heavy, plus it's got four wheel drive it's not too bad.

Because it's tall and a little wide I think people often forget it's about the same length as a Fabia estate though. :)

I've got to un-follow some of your threads Richard. Over the last 2 days I must have had 100 emails from Briskoda about the Yeti and Citigo-go  :D

Nah, sod it, keep it up. Gives me something to plough through in the mornings.

As a side nudge, the chaps doing the conversion are 18 miles from work, if you find that as you are picking it up the BriskYeti decides to detour through Forest Gate there's a nice flat bit of road to give her a little blast  ;)

You turned Neils hair grey last time, why not see if you can leave him as a jibbering wreck in the corner of the workshop next time

Race blue and don't colour code it, it will look like a pre facelift Yeti Indoor, which I know you love soooo much  :bandit:

If you're looking to keep the colour from within the Skoda stable, why has nobody mentioned Rallye Green..?

If you're looking to keep the colour from within the Skoda stable, why has nobody mentioned Rallye Green..?

Because it should only every be seen on MkII Fabia vRS'

Slight delay as APR might be a bit short of downpipes. (Turbo kit was due Tuesday)

Obviously I don't want it sprayed first and then be messing about under the bonnet right away in case it gets marked/scratched.

So will put that back a week or two as well.

Need to get seats pronto too as the stock SE seats without lumber support (it was an £80 option that should always have been added) means it's one of the least comfortable cars for my back I've driven in years.

Fortunately I'm not driving it much!

That's a shame, it will give you more chance to change your mind over the colour :)

I've been checking the Wife's Yeti over as therapy as it hasn't been used much lately due to the baby while I think about colours...

She doesn't go far.

2 years old in March and it's got 3422 miles on it!

Certainly had an easier life than mine.

Wow that is low mileage :)

Low indeed, I thought my wife did extremely low mileage at only 8500 in just under three years! I did most of them lol.   Which reminds me I will have to think about an MOT in March as it will be three years old.

My gf did under 4000 since we moved house nearly two and a half years ago.

Well my 225/45R17 Federal RSR track tyres have arrived...

No sign of the turbo kit yet though.

Or the Corner Scales.

Phoned Demon Tweaks today and they will be coming from the USA. :wonder:

So they are supplying me a set of wireless ones that are in stock so I have them soon. :)

If I'm going to do daft stuff like that I need to start before the car is altered so I can see the difference and effects various changes have.

Good old DT and their lead times :D currently waiting 17 days for an exhaust.

Is your local APR dealer supplying and fitting Rich?

I will be in Tweeks tomorrow for some therapy    I also get a discount in there Richard if you had said, a whole 15% so not to be sniffed at.

15% would have been nice.  Too late now.

Supplying, not sure about fitting.

Depends how busy we are at work as they look well made for simple installation.

Let me know if you are going there again and I will line it up for you.

I don't generally use them as they are not cheap.

Makes sense if a 15% discount is possible. :D

Shame really, the saving could have bought me a spare set of Federal track tyres.  But hey, that's life.

Not the first time I find out late and won't be the last either.
