Wife just dropped car off this morning at VW Rescue. Lastnight it was fine apart from the juddering...

Then this morning, the wife could not even get out of second gear the juddering, EML and ASR were all kicking off.

Before my spinchter tightens and i get a quote. How much do you reckon i should be paying to get either the wiring loom or a new injector replaced?

Really need to prepare myself for the cost as my research concludes the cost of replacing an injector can be anywhere from £500-£1000...

If its in the £1000 mark, the car is getting shifted.

Yep. Morrisons' fuel is (or used to be) not compatible with VAG engines. BSEN590 fuel (standard forecourt diesel) is allowed to contain up to 7% biodiesel (from memory) but Morrisons' used to contain more. Compare this with your handbook which probably says not to use biodiesel at all.....

Seriously? FFS...what about Sainsburys? The car has been running rough ever since i started putting that **** in my car. I only used to fill up for convenience.

As far as I'm aware, Morrisons are the only supermarket who don't comply. I've used Tesco in my Fabia (and my Leon before that) with no problems, although I'm currently back on Shell as I think Tesco's winter blend diesel knocks my economy (Fuelly shows a pretty big, consistent decrease after November compared to what I was getting in it between March-November when I first bought it, whereas my last tank with Shell was pretty good and this one's looking pretty good too).

Have a look on the pumps to see if they're standards marked, if they're BSEN590 then you should be fine, if they're not marked then it's a "custom" blend which isn't approved by British Standards etc.

faulty wiring loom cost me around 140 quid - hope in your case its just the loom as the garage said its common on these engines

Morrisons' diesel is BS EN 590 but contains the maximum 7% biodiesel. It says this on the pump. Many brands of diesel seem to contain about 2.5%.

Morrisons' B30 diesel is not of course BS EN 590 and is not compatible with many VAG engines.

Injector cost from a good VW Specialist is around £250 - £300.

I whacked 50 quid of asda fuel in my car and got 330 miles

On some Morrisons' forecourts it is easy to put B30 in by mistake. At night, they use orange lighting and the B30 pumps have orange writing on them.

Indeed. I probably haven't actually used it since my non-PD Golf tbh, although that was mainly just because it wasn't convenient. Whereas since I found out about the change, I started actively avoiding it.

Used to work at a Sainsburies petrol station.

We used to have deliverys come in a BP tanker, which then serviced the BP a mile down the road!

Since 1st April 2010 BS EN 590 must contain a minimum of 3.5% (used to be 2.5%)

On the same estate in Wombourne - P-Torque do the tuning and VW Rescue do the hard work (sorry Will)

Both very good - had mine done there twice and can't say enough good things. Glad to see they have a nice little polo to run around in though as I kept getting that cr*ppy R reg golf (still better than nothing)
