fl climatronic retrofit

Recommended Posts

  • 1 year later...

Do you really think that it is only the plugs relevant?!?

Cmon.

On the other hand, I found that you can retrofit new style Climatronic from a VW Golf 7 to the Golf 6 without problems, it fits and works

EDIT:

Look here:

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

There is a guy on eBay selling them.

Not too much expensive (selling new climatronic panels and the needed fascia-trim sorround OEM)

I doubt it would fit. It's a totally different style and system

Do you have Octavia 2 pre-FL or FL?

If you have FL...then you can test in live if you have some climatronic panel from O3 by hand nearby.

But they are not phisically same...

I have a pre fl. I know you can fit fl into pre fl. With a lot of work

FL O2 climatronic to the pre-FL O2 is not a lot of work. Depends do you have two motors or only one in car (depends on production year model)--→ problem with recirculation accours

What do you mean with theese?

Did not undersrand you..

The MK3 unit needs a different sized cutout when compared to the MK2 FL or MK pre-FL. If the ebay seller mentioned is correct, then the MK3 might be electrically similar enough to the MK2 FL to just work. This is just based on the similarity of the Golf and Octavia in MK7/MK3 vs MK6/MK2 FL configurations. It would need someone with access to both to prove this.

MK2 FL in to a MK2 pre-FL isn't a hard task and needs a little wiring work and the installation of an air quality sensor to sort error codes. That would suggest that a MK2 pre-FL might also be able to take a MK3 style unit assuming it's modified in the same way.

It needs a skilled someone to try it first and report back.

So in answer to this question:

Can i put the climatronic unit from octavia 3 on my octavia 2? 5e0907044a ?

If it's a MK2 FL, then probably.

If it's a MK2 pre-FL, then it'll be harder work but still a possibility.

Both will need a custom facia.

I doubt many people will be interested due to the lack of OEM facia's that will fit so your probably one of very few who will try.

Keep us updated and if anyone has a MK3 climatronic laying around I'm happy to plug it into my car after checking the pin outs. ;)

My idea, from few months before, when find this retrofit of Golf MK7/MK6, was to try the new style Superb 3 (MK3) climatronic to the Superb 2...

I found some S3 (MK3) climatronic panels on eBay...but in doubt try the retrofit or not...

They are not same in compare to the O3...

In theory should work...but have not found nobody do it in practice ...yet ;)
