Led Number Plate Light

Featured Replies

Hi

I have now found the perfect LED lights for Number Plate on my Skoda Roomster (October 2011).

There is no Maxi-Dot display, but "plain" old display in my Roomster and if I remove a number plate light I do not get any "Bulb warning light" in my dashboard.

Buy 2 of this eBay item:

"36mm 3 SMD LED 239 272 C5W CANBUS NO ERROR WHITE INTERIOR LIGHT FESTOON BULB"

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290625543714

Use a Torx 10 to take out the number plate lights holder, unclick the light holder for easy access (please take care that the wiring to the light holders do not disappears inside the boot lid)

Replace bulb with new LED light. Test before reassemble.

If it does not light, pull it out, rotate it 180 deg and put it back in.

It takes about 10 min. and is very easy and it look really cool :-)

Hi Pete

When you say led lights for the back lights, then you mean side lights/position lights?

I have tried buying http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290617034689 and they failed with a "Bulb warning" in the dashboard. They a not very bright compared to a standard W5W bulb.

Perhaps it is better to find LED lights that are red and have much more power output.

For now I have decided not to do more about it.

But all interior lights has been replaced with LED lights. And it is cool :-)

there was chap were i work he said they do led for the back lights i will a try and look in to it more and let you now

i think he said he a a book on them if i see him pete
