  • It is for reliable boost and less lag of warm running which a remap can increase, but depends on how you are using your car. I live in Havant so not far from you.

  • i will be frank, go and spend that 5k on a proper performance car to start with, it would be easier..cheaper dare i say better too as that quote doesnt even address the handling issues with the octy,

  • thats a nice car and would whip the vrs...literally in both speed and handling

I can get a discount at Venom Motorsport mate and my mate delivers to them everyday so can collect parts and ship them to you myself n that :-) let me know your list and ill quote for you if you want

Just got my quote back im fairly happy with it tbh heres what i got in the email:

Hi Alex,

Unfortunately we no longer have access to any KO3/S upgrade exhaust manifolds as our supplier is no longer selling them.

As for the rest of the parts:

Miltek Resonated Turbo back: £843.24

Quaiffe Diff: £702.00 + Bolt Kit: £144

Tarox 6 Pot 323mm Brake upgrade: £1195.00

Tarox Rear discs and pad upgrade: £252.12

Helix Autosport clutch and flywheel kit: £745.69

Silicone Turbo hoses and Turbo intake pipe: £247.00 (Unfortunately you can not fit a 3" Maf with Stage 2 software as it will not run correctly. Forge don't sell a KO3S compatible TIP with a 3" outlet so this would have to be modified at a later date when going to a hybrid specific map.

Carbonio Cold air Intake kit - £202.98

Forge Front Mounted intercooler - £702.00

Total amount: £4332.03 inc VAT.

As most of the products you have chosen have very little markup, we can only provide a minimal extra discount of £100.00 which would drop the price of the parts down to £4232.03

However, If you were looking to get the parts above fitted by us, You would be looking at 16 hours. This would normally be £1056.00, but if we reduce the labour rate by £15 + VAT per hour, it will work out at £768.00

This would give the job a total price of £5000.03 plus any mapping.

As for Turbo chargers at a later date, the one which we do is a KO3 based Hybrid. These are capeable of upto 290bhp and come out at £1434.00.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide mapping to suit this turbo so you would ideally need to find a custom mapping specialist to carry out the mapping on this.

Hope this helps,

Kind Regards,

Al - Awesome GTI Store

I shall make sure my head is still screwed on correctly this week and weigh up how im going to do the mods (one big lump or bits at a time) but i feel a trip to the bank coming along haha

Alex, i can think of two words for that quote.....bum rape!!!!

your mad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shocking amount of money for not alot in reality !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so 5 k lol give me 10k i will sell you a monster of an octy ( im not joking )

i will be frank, go and spend that 5k on a proper performance car to start with, it would be easier..cheaper dare i say better too as that quote doesnt even address the handling issues with the octy, which are its major downfall and will cost another couple of grand on top of that quote to sort properly (ie kw v3s, tt/r32 front end, polybushing rear arb etc)!

oet he can have all that and more for 10k lol ;-) maybe not lol

friday friday mapping

lol, so its finally gettting mapped?........SWEET!

Alex, you are gonna be in it for 10k to get a reasonable mid range tuned car.

Go see what 10k buys you in terms of evo, sti, skyline, s4, s3 etc etc etc

10k would get mine and in terms of other cars wow i know what i would do!!!!

5k to go stage 2 lmfao daylight robbery

tbh i thought that i got a quote to see how much it would all be however my head is screwd on tight so i will be going for seccond hand parts, handeling is all sorted on my car just need the brakes upgraded tbh haha Ive got an s3 upper and lover strut brace to go on but my car has already been pollybushed and has coilovers and a front and rear arb, tbh im going to get it to stage 2 before i go prauge then its on for a hybrid turbo next year, i will make sure i dont go overboard spending wise haha

in terms of parts

forge front mount if thats what you really want is £500 direct from forge ( awesome rapping it!!!) imo get a good setup for £200

exhaust piper or any other really ( miltek mega money and not the best !!!) piper around £300

dont need turbo hoses

dont need tip

g60 conversion is just as good clutch £200 all in

deffo dont need a carbonio

brakes go for lcr setup around £500

quaiffe buy direct will be cheaper ( very good mod)

gives you an idea

i know i sold you the braces dude:>

what suspension you running? for decent power i would be fitting a tt quickrack, r32 front arb, r32 cast wishbones with castor adjustment, to really be able to use the 250bhp you will be going for with a hybrid.

Plus what suspension you running, as serious power needs serious kit imo, ie v2s or v3s.

Why fit a helix clutch when the g60 setup should be good for the kind of powere you are looking for at a fraction of the cost.

Dont fit 6 pots, fit a secondhand set of brembo four pots of an lcr (or the gt kit) can be had for £450-550 all day long, and are designed for the car specifically with the vag master cylinder size in mind, unlike other generic 6 pot kits.

Thats how you get to tune your car for sensible money!

get a wavetrac, buy it from the states to save money

buy secondhand exhaust and sports cat or decat (sold mine for £300)

get an uprated smic, better for hybrid (small turbo) application imo

agree that all the above is not good value for money

and the thing that made me laugh, was that the discount offered was £100 on £4300ish...........................

as said, forge fmics are about £500 direct, so am a little pessamistic when a supplier says they have no room for discount, especially when their prices are at the top end of the market in all honesty!!!
