Bought a GSX1400 in 2001 and rode it out the shop with L plates and provisional licence. Passed test next day. It now has 6K miles up.

Added a SV650 2 years later it now has 1.8K miles up.

Got a DL650 in 2007 now has 700 miles up.

Would like to ride more but am getting scared of falling off. Noticed since I turned 60 I dont bounce so good anymore. Getting some stick from the missus with 3 bikes in the garage but what the heck.

How do you ride a gsx1400 on L plates???

This might be on the cards for bike No. 4 then :D

I have normal bike ABS on the Z1000SX but good God I don't like the thought of it kicking in under any condition.

Well the weather is truly autumnal now - got an absolute drenching this morning. Took all day for the gear to dry out.

Cracking blast home though as the roads had dried out. Love it.

As my bike has been in storage in NI since June/July and I didn't intend to not be joining it a few weeks later, I have missed it greatly! But good news, someone died at home  :( so I went over for the funeral and got my bike out and insured it again and had a day or 2 of using it and weather was DRY!!!!!  :sun:?

Insurance at my current address there with bike garaged was £155 fully comp (cheapest I found) then the fact that the garage is not at the house but at end of the road price was £606 (best deal overall)................  :@ Would have been cheaper to insure it at home as parked on the road!!!! But I don't want to be dishonest so play the game and do it right.

Bike out front tyre was a little soft........... mega drama controlling it on tiny poor fresh tar&chippings country lanes from where I hid it. Shot of O2 and she was born again! Day after the funeral I woke up early on a Sunday so decided to ride to the opposite end of the country to visit my dad and have a coffee (wanged a Sunday dinner out of it in end). So all in all not the worst week.

I am out of work soon and have decided that owning a bike and running it on top of a car is crazy, so I have a price from a dealers to take it off me  Not as much as I would like but its a buy any bike service they offer and their price is £1200 more than webuyanybike etc in GB so not bad for time of biking season.  That said if anyone here is interested in it, just over a year old still with warranty, full Kawasaki history 2000 miles ish full official luggage (2012 ABS Tourer spec)........

I stopped and took a pic on my travels for you of the green machine in it's element, all be it at the end of another fresh tar&chipping lane.......

Sorry to hear that your considering selling your bike :( I'd be gutted at the thought of having to get rid of mine.

With the weather having officially turned into autumn and these horrible wet roads I haven't been out for a month! However I got her out this afternoon and the roads were dry! Had such a blast and realised how much I've missed riding her!

I am consoling myself with the thought of..... IF I get the house I want at a good price and then get a job I might just buy a new ZZR1400 :D

That's enough to keep you going! Those ZZR's are unbelievable things! Although personally I am more of a Hayabusa lover after my friend took my out on his. (Pre face lift model).

I am more of a ZZR fan as I have owned..... 3 ZZR's the 600, 1200 and 1400 before. Also the 1400 in the correct hands is a quicker machine :D Mine had Ti-Force 4-1, flies out, power commander 3 and set up by a well respected establishment. (221bhp). The sounds and snarls that came out of that machine were emotional! Trading it in for the Z1000SX is still something I question but was the right thing to do as I was meant to be moving back to the UK and leaving the Autobahns behind :(

Guys got to report back on some new tyres fitted to the speed triple yesterday.

No doubt some of you already have experience of the - michelin pilot road 3.

Brand new on yesterday, covered in release agent, left the house in greasy conditions this morning then into heavy rain.

After 100 yds I thought the front tyre was flat - no just gripping like mad.

I've never had anything like this from scrubbed tyres never mind new ones in the wet - holy moly.

I'm riding right through this weather until the new O3 vRS arrives in a couple of months.

Wow wow wow

PR3's quite frankly stunning in the wet. I found mine wore a little bit quicker than the PR2s though, which are merely awesome in the wet.

In other news I think I've just sold my old TDM which has been lurking in the back of the garage since 3rd gear when kaput about 3 years ago. This means I'll have a space in the garage... I'm thinking a CRF250L, KLX250, MT-350...

Im a total convert. Staggered at the grip. Why on earth I didn't try them sooner.

Hope the cars delayed a bit longer now !!

CRF - nice nice nice !

Brother and sisters, I have bad news :(

Last weekend I drove to the airport, parked in long term, got on a plane (after 6 fecking hour delay), got on a bus, got off a bus, walked 2 miles, went to sleep, got up early, walked half a mile to garage, woke up the Zed, took her for what would turn out to be her final ride with me. Left it in a dealers for them to buy, as it was weekend and the guy was off Monday had to leave it there and signed some paperwork. Today I get a call from home, the cheque has arrived for the full amount I was provisionally offered. They offer a bike buyer service and beat webuyanybike by £1300, not the best price but a lot more reasonable than I thought!

So for the moment I am a ..... full time CAGER!

Worst thing is, I had an awesome ride up there on it  :bandit: and I didn't know where in Belfast exactly it was, found it leant her over onto the stand removed the key and never even said goodbye.

Anyways, once I get a job I am thinking another big ZZR for me  Bought a brand new car (my Octy), something I never thought I would be in a position to do in my life. Then went out and bought a brand new bike outright as well. Next I am after a house, then I need a new job and I shall be back on 2 wheels (health depending)!

Noooooooooo not another cager on the road to avoid....arghhhhhhh

Sorry to hear its gone dude, must be a gutted feeling ?

I'm having a bit of a hankering for a zzr14....not had a kwak for a few years.

Good work on the new octy - getting frustrated waiting for mine. Although living riding the bike every day right now.

My new Octy is the one I have now I ordered it and bought it outright in 2011. Never thought I would ever be able to own a new car let alone just buy one with chip & pin. A few bikes and then a brand spanker one I had always liked and wanted to try out. Was a nice bike indeed, wish I had never got the 1400 before it though. That ZZR was emotional sounding. That said I still think the ZZR1200 is a better bike, more mpg, bigger tank, more comfortable and stock for stock power and top end almost nout in them. ZZR1200 would run up to the limiter at 186mph and be a lot more planted cut through the air a lot better for me, ZZR1400 165mph fine anything above.... was a bit sketchy so rarely went past that. Also ZZR1200 pennies to insure has carbs and is a right work horse! A real forgotten bike!

Were there any bikers on here on the M25 on Sunday 10th? I was Driving to Essex, and for miles and miles of the M25 there were literally hundreds and hundreds of bikers in red and many with Poppy's on their bikes or clothes. So many different bikes, from Ducati's to Harley's, to home made trikes and the back and of an old MR2 attached to the front end of a bike, but stretched.. Very strange..

But have a lot of respect for them though, nice gesture, and there were some people waiting for them to go past holding Union Jack flags on the bridges above the motorway. Gave a thumbs up to quite a few of them.

Hi my name's Ben and I ride a GSX-R 750 K7 in black. You might have guessed it is a gixxer from my username!! Had gixxers since I was 20. :) Near Swindon if any other bikers on here fancy a blast some time.

Nice one Ben, any pics for us to see? Black K7 is a sweet looking bike, very stealthy and aggressive. I used to cut about Swindon a few years back, Geroge Whites was fantastic! What do you make of the new named 'Mega Motorcycle Store'? I have not been back since to see if it is as good, loved the outlet style shop for bargain gear etc.

Alright Fubar, sorry to have missed you in the past. I am in Scotland with the old dear at the moment so I don't have access to pics at the mo. totally agree with you , georgous bike, love it to bits. Prob too much!  Yeah they were good old GW.  Shame it folded. especially if the reason I heard was true. Not that mega to be honest, some good kit at reasonable prices but not as comprehensive as I would like, but then equally I would not like to carry that high end kit on my overdraft in the age of the web. Good luck to them and would try to buy from them if they have what I am looking for.  Yeah the outlet shop was good for a bargain.

I did drive from the Netherlands to GW's a couple of times it was that good (stuff is twice the price of the expensive UK stores here). Saved thousands over the years in that place! Could even haggle at the till! Anywhere nice in Scotland? Watch yourself in shortbread land, I hear there is "The worst winter in living memory" coming on news for UK (again....).

NL !! Just out of Wiltshire then! Perthshire so yeah pretty nice, though not going to get any play biking in. Yeah standard panicing and drama. They cant predict anything these days, in Feb they said we would be prob 4 years or so before we could hope to have a good summer and lo and behold, a corker. What bike are you riding then fella?
