she needed a couple of things tidied, rear brake hose, rear wheel bearing and chain/sprockets did'nt have much left in them, but all sorted in a weekend and the fun has commenced! have had lots of experience on road bikes but have had to really lean on my many years of downhill mountain biking skills to keep up with my riding buddies but happy to report that I didn't disgrace myself out on the first ride and my commute to work has now become far more entertaining   happy days ahead!

Love mine, longest bike I've ever kept.

Got this in 2005.

Now 8 years.

Absolutely fantastic. Had an 03 Fazer 600 before that.

If you can ride a Fazer the ZRX1200 is the next step up.

Old style maybe but sheer grunt priceless.

Plus over 50 mpg. Occasionally.

The Tuono now had for 3 years.

2 years ago yesterday I took this pic, mid trip and all was well with the world.

2 years ago tomorrow since a fellow biker doing his day job cut these off me

And today the 636 in the pic above and this one below had a bad 'off'. Got a call from my mates fiancée, letting me know when she called him earlier a paramedic answered his phone. He is bashed up but talking etc. He had just got a nice expensive new lid and gear the other day too and lid badly damaged, his other complaints are shoulder and spine pain. Poor sod just had a new custom paint job on bike too.

No I am awaiting the phone call when he is allowed, to give him some good old stick about it.

From the details I have heard so far the new load of gear he was wearing has done it's job.

Blimey - sobering read, but a good reminder if ever one needed not to scrimp on Motorcycle gear

Hope your mate is ok and doesn't have any residual injuries

Aye he is all good, just been talking to him. He had a massive tank slapper on a bend in road in truck gulley/grooves, he came off on barrier and went over top of a Police car accident investigator one doing a job and took out a road sign with his good self. 70mph job, but no no broken bones!

Sounds like quite some off !! - glad he's doing ok :)  and so fortunate not to have any breaks .

Must have been one hell of a shock for the accident invesigator too!!  Which kinda begs the question was he there because there was a hazard needing sorting? - Know you mentioned the truck grooves .

He was out of hospital all fine just sore, bike didn't make it though! Recovery place asked him "did the rider make it?". They didn't believe him when he said it was him. Lucky man!

if your going to crash you should do it in style! I wonder how deep it was though :o

It's the splash coming back up the wall that gets me, there's such a delay before the splash it must be fairly deep

I seem to see a lot of people riding in just shorts and t-shirt, just don't get it, I stopped riding with my jacket slightly undone after a wasp flew inside and stung my chest while I was doing 70.

I have had very very angry wasps end up inside it after hitting neck and making it by chance inside alive........ OMFG the sight of one going mental between your eye balls and the visor is mental! Had about 8 flies get in on my ride back the other week one resulted in an emergency stop/stoppie in Belgium on motorway.

I got some very strange looks as I stood by the roadside with my top off attempting to remove the sting with my keys

lol I can imagine!

I wore full leathers and race boots all the way back the other weekend in 30Deg crazy heat, I would never dream of doing it any differently. The shorts and T-Shirt brigade are nuts, id hate to see one come off, stop to help and have to put up with their screaming. A mate who is a biker saw someone come off on a roundabout in trackies while he was in his car. He got out and helped but gave the rider no sympathy as he moaned about his shoulder and was in tears. My mate said "if you don't like that best not look at your leg" (his knee joint was exposed). Whilst waiting for ambulance he told him what he thought of him and it was his own fault and to man up. I wouldn't be so harsh there and then but this bloke I know will have done.
