Moving back to Northern Ireland. Would love another gixxer prob would have a 750, but I can't really do them any more due to this 40kph gravelly tumble off my old ZZR1200 fully loaded :(

A bit more upright seems to work better. Plus to be fair I would rather have a bike I can have full luggage on and still have plenty of grunt jack of all trades able to go for a blast on a weekend or tour around Europe on for a few weeks in comfort sort of deal. Not a busa fan so the GSXR1300 will not be happening second best to the ZZR IMO  :D

ah right, yeah I can see a full on sports bike might not be ideal then. Always been a big fan of the ZZR. Get more pillion requests on the biker bikes though which can be a nusicance.

That just reminded me I still have the pillion seat for that K1 lol Must dig it out and Ebay the thing when I am poor again

Good plan! All helps with the cash, wanted a new set of leathers and the ones I want were £1500 second hand, so that was a no for just now!

Glad you found it fella, I see you like the old SRADs, here's a dodgy pic of my old one, not sure if I've already put this one up but never mind.

I'll try that tomorrow as little one is asleep now and not sure wifey would appreciate that lol

Very nice Harvey and Essexocty! V nice SRAD. Bike porn to my mind!!

Years ago I bought my Fazer 600 from Swindon.

Like you I need an upright bike.

Got an Aprilia Tuono back in 09 still have it but don't use it much.

The Kawasaki ZRX1200 is my favourite bike.

Lovely position with  loads of torque.

Going to sell the Tuono soooo if anyone wants one I got a good en with very low miles.

If the Tuono doesn't sell I'm going to p/x for the Versys 650.

Got a dealer on the hook for a real good price.

But I might just wait now for the NEC and maybe new reg plate 14.

Don't be too long Matey before you get back in the saddle...at your age you might forget how to ride one.

Bike show starts next week !

Finally the manufacturers are starting to wake up from the recession and with the Yen weakening the bikes are looking better value.

MT-09 looks particularly good for a naked but a half fairing would set it off nice for distance traveling I reckon.

New on here and also a biker although using a 125cc Twist and Go Peugeot at the moment; over the past 18-years or so have had 7 Harleys, 4 Hondas, 3 Yamahas, 2 Triumphs and a Suzuki.

Done loads of trips in Western Europe mainly going to Harley Rallies,

Last 2 bikes before the scooter are attached below: -

Have fond memories of this one though :-

I haven't really wanted a big bike since I sold the Triumph and V-Rod as the Peugeot does everything I currently need, however I would have liked to have taken part in the "Ring of Red" around the M25 last Sunday I could of used the scooter but felt that 117 odd miles flat out would have been a bit unfair, respect to those that did.

With all the road works and gantry cameras fat out is not possible for ore than two or three seconds at a time.

Urban legend has it that a few bikers did do the M25 in an hour just after it was finished and it was less busy.  The Thames crossing is the fly in the ointment of course.

Do miss having the big ride outs so must pop along to the Quatt Cafe sometime at Bridgenorth.

Street triple rider here. Down sized from my R1 to this and never looked back. post-108884-0-64196400-1384635444_thumb.jpg

You like it then?

I'm somewhat short in the leg so struggle with my tiger 1050, and having sat on the Street I was rather taken with the height, weight and riding position.

I was tempted to give it a try, but the idea of a European tour came up for next summer and I decided that it was unlikely to be ideal two up with luggage, so the tiger stays for now

Have you tried a lowering kit? I've gone the other way on my TDM and fitted shortened dogbones that raise the bike an inch or so, but several members of the owners club have fitted longer one to lower the bike, and I believe the Tiger uses a similar link. Reduces ground clearance a fraction and makes it a bit harder to get the bike on to an unmodified centrestand, but don't have an adverse effect on the handling.

Yeah I love it, it's just to easy to ride and sounds great. But I'm not sure about the standard seat height. My has a nitron race shock jacking it up plus the custom gel seat puts another half inch on. Then I put sportsmarts on this year and the tall profile has me on my tip toes. I bought a standard seat to see if the missus would fit it but she had no chance.

You could tour on your own but two up would not be a good idea.

My loverly KTM is back at the dealers awaiting a new subframe.  :(

Street triple is a great piece of kit - wife rides one.

It is a very rapid piece of kit in the right hands, super light, ultra chuckable.

Makes my speed triple feel a bit lardy lol

Have you tried a lowering kit?.

I've not, but probably ought to as they're not that expensive.

Not sure if it'd still be ok though when 2 up with a fully laden set of Givis.

I probably ought to try the triumph low seat option first

I can comfortably get the balls of my feel on the ground on the stock Street but I'm on tip toes on the R.

Having used the tiger to get me and the lad to Naples and back a couple of years ago, I know just how capable it is for two. Perhaps I should just hang on to the tiger until the lad leaves home.

If you're upping the preload and damping for the extra weight it should be fine touring with it lowered, but if you've got a centrestand it's a really quick job to swap them over so could have it lowered for day to day use and jack it back up again for touring.
