That was a mission on my own with two jacks :D

Pretty sure these bits shouldn't be loose in my gearbox.

Tried out my new Chemical Guys Black Light polish. I recommend it!! I'm very happy with the results. It was easy to apply and buff off. After leaving for 15 minutes I expected it to be difficult to sh

I'm wussing out with the LSD install. Read a few guides and now that I know what's involved I'm going to get these guys to do it.

Things like setting preload on bearings, pressing out the bearings, getting those rivets out etc. I don't have all of the tools needed and I'm not confident that I can do it properly, I do not want to pull this gearbox out again :D

yeah sod that i wouldn't do it either tbh, some jobs have to be conceded to the pros i see this as one of them  plan on getting one in the near future waiting for your review  :)

Old bits

The middle bit was flapping around - guess that's where those bits of spring should have been

130,000km, and mapped from 15,000 so I think it has done pretty well.

It has indeed :)

I may have missed it but what replacement clutch did you go for?

  • Author

It's an ECS Stage 1 kit - single mass flywheel (20.5lb one not lightened) and G60 clutch.

Want the gearbox back now so I can put things back together :D

Nice, looks good :)

Just spoke to the gearbox guys. It's all finished and back together, pick it up tomorrow. It was the correct sized diff, phew!!! Excited!

Thanks again to Rob at W8 Performance for supplying it.

Hows the hybrid set up going now with regards to the MAF and injectors? Or has that already been said and I've missed it? Lol

I'm still running the Stage 2 map at the moment which is running pretty rich, I think because it doesn't expect the 4 BAR FPR. Waiting for Ben to get back to me but he's a busy man!

Thankyou :)

Car is on its wheels again, gearbox is half filled. The second bottle is transmission oil not gear oil, doh! Dealer stuck the wrong sticker on the bottles, the label underneath is correct.

Have to wait until tomorrow for a replacement as they keep them in Auckland.

Warrant of fitness expired 4 days ago, so check is booked for 11am. Have to collect oil, fill, refit battery and catch can and test. Oh and work too :)

Might not be driving it this weekend after all :(

It moves!

Come on then how well does it move ?

  • Author

Give me a chance! :) Only driven round the block so far as my warrant (MOT) expired 5 days ago. Getting a new one later today.

  • Author

Warrant passed - but my adjusting of gear linkages leaves something to be desired. Second is hard to select, reverse is tricky and changing third to second is almost impossible.

Need to sort that out!

  • Author

Got the gears sorted - followed the Dieselgeek Youtube video then had to do a bit more tinkering.

Haven't had a proper drive yet to test the LSD.

I still haven't had a decent drive yet. I can definitely feel the effects of the LSD (sounds dodgy!)

I love the G60 clutch/flywheel. Lighter but better.

Oh and SWMBO seems to approve of the Recaros. Might have sourced a set of rears too.
