Tried out my new Chemical Guys Black Light polish. I recommend it!! I'm very happy with the results. It was easy to apply and buff off. After leaving for 15 minutes I expected it to be difficult to sh

Lol, I never thought about the exchange.... still, I bought my vrs for less.

Exactly it's too much money. It's the best option for me if I want to make any more tweaks in future and it's the only way I'll get a fully custom map in Wellington.

The Auckland people are good but they put on a generic map then tweak using street logging, and don't have a dyno, so not ideal, would cost around $1500 (750 quid), $2k+ if we rented a dyno. And I'd have to get the car to Auckland, which the way it's driving would mean doing 700km at about 90kph to stay under the rev range where it plays up.

Also if I need future tweaks it's another 1500km drive. Which is a nice idea I guess :D

Back to standard turbo is the sensible option.

Going to try unplugging MAF later, haven't tried that yet.

I did a throttle body adaptation. And you know what? I think that might have sorted it. More testing tomorrow when fully cold.

I never want to hear you say this again. Its like quitting ;)

really hoping this fixes it! its not good to see a car like this going wrong :(

Get in!

I hope that's sorted it rob :)

Damnit, no it's not fixed. Definitely much better once warmed up. Still not sure it's 100% right, need more driving to be sure. Still cutting back when cold.

Didn't get to drive as far as I wanted as we were cruising up State Highway 2 and my 2.5 year-old did a massive spew.

On another note, the car and I have now been together for 9 years :)

Just read from start to finish, you have done an amazing job so far Rob and your car is stunning.

Dont quit, youre nearly there! Hope you manage to get the niggles ironed out, i admire your determination - i know how easy it is to say enough is enough when things dont go right.

Good luck mate, keep at it chipping away and narrowing it down

Ade.

As predicted, temp sensor made no difference. Got it on my ramps to do O2 sensor but dog needs a haircut first!!

Trust a dog to find the ONLY thing in the garage it shouldnt have stepped in

Have you had it code read yet Rob?

I saw your pictures on Flickr Rob and hadn't got around to commenting. Glad to see Noodles is still giving you a helping paw or two :)

I am this close to saying f--- the cost and taking it to the local tuning place.

Does the local tuning place, ONLY deal with aftermarket ecu's ?

Or do they do mechanical stuff too ?

If they do the mechanical stuff, get them to spend a couple of hours going over the car (ok not cheap, and it is something you have been doing yourself) but your not finding anything / getting anywhere, and you said yourself you are not convinced it's a software issue, so it might be worthwhile before you chuck $4000 of monopoly money at it.

Changed O2 sensor - no difference.

9035455927_936a7e0a02_b.jpg

I had to go buy a decent spanner to get the leverage to shift the sensor!

New tools FTW!

You don't need a new spanner, you need a 'Dog Wrench' for Noodles.

You're right. It has got to that point where I'm frustrated with it and just want it fixed :D

I think she is giving you the 'that's not quite what I had in mind' look :D
