Tried out my new Chemical Guys Black Light polish. I recommend it!! I'm very happy with the results. It was easy to apply and buff off. After leaving for 15 minutes I expected it to be difficult to sh

I realised that I wasn't really using my sub to its full potential, mainly because sometimes there was too much bass for my wife's liking so I had turned down the gain to make her happier.

I had the Alpine ida-X300 which I was generally happy with, but I spotted an end-of-line ida-X200, which has separate sub output RCAs.

So I could remove the passthrough from amp to amp and run separate cables for front and rear speakers, and sub. This is the unit I wanted to buy originally but they were a bit too expensive at the time.

I got the head unit and installed it the other week, then ordered a bass controller thingy from Ebay

I didn't really want to screw this to the dash anywhere so I dismantled it and did this:

Once again the Dremel proved its worth, both in hollowing out the back of the switch blank, and trimming down the knob so it fit properly.

Gain up to full, sub set at full from headunit, and I can control it properly, and get epic bass when I feel the urge.

Maybe I should download some of that dubstep stuff to test it out properly.

Boom booms :D

My god that centre console looks awesome now!

like retro dial - reminds me of 70s hifi

If the headunit has 3 rca outs can you also not control the sub level separately from the headunit itself ?

You can yes, but you have to click a button, select a menu option, set it, then click back a couple of times. This is more convenient :D

Same reason i wanted one of these but then i got mine perfect obviously im the only one that uses the car so no person differences :)

... you have to click a button, select a menu option ...

Ahh - one of them buggers ;)

I was on the point of replacing my own H/U due how difficult its menu system was to use, had to resort to reading the manual & found hidden shortcuts for its remote

I have my 2.5 year-old well trained. When we get to a tunnel in my car she says "Make some noise please daddy!"
And on the way home when I braked for a roundabout she woke up and told me off!

I know what you're going to say. But they came up locally for a reasonable price.

Must get that cambelt change done.

Wow that was close! Had to bump over this dropped kerb, just missed the pothole.

I was braking and indicating but the driver of the 7.5 tonne refrigerated truck behind me wasn't concentrating.

I saw him getting closer, heard his wheels lock up and floored it over the kerb. He came to a stop about 1.5 car lengths past where I would have stopped to take the kerb.

No damage to wheels or anything, just my nerves!

"if in doubt flat out"

How much of your car is still original Skoda Rob :D Excluding the Badges of course.

I hit a pot hole a couple of months ago and bent a wheel. It cost a fortune to replace, as I haded bented it - my bad -  :(

Lucky escape. Lucky no damage was done

I've changed nearly all of the badges :D

Hope I never damage these wheels, they're about $750 each (400 quid) when bought individually and ship from Italy!
