Anyone ever thought the boot light just wasn't quite up to the job?

I attacked my boot with some serious electrical venom this morning, as it was sunny. Got my mate to do some of the more technical wiring in, but the sort of pattern goes like this. Wiring for rear boot light chopped and joined in with a new 5 pin relay switch. Two wires then go down to get positive and earth feeds, then more wires are joined into the crimped togther wiring for the lights. The lights themselves are just screwed into my false floor. Four on top of the floor, and one semi stuck to one of the amps to give an "underneath" glow.

I don't care what comments people have too. :P I did this mainly for a giggle, but if you're going to fill a boot full of audio :speaker: :speaker: there's no harm in giving it a little evening illumination IMO. I'm off for some munchies now, and shall return to at all the comments. Oh yeah, also have a crappy blue bulb in the nav light in the front. Not gonna be there long either. :thumbdwn:

Nice! I seriously like I might have to wire up a switch to the neon wire round the edge of my false floor at this rate, to give a "glow" rather than light back there...

If by sporting you mean I'll throw darts at them / play tug of war with them / use them as clay pigeon shooting targets then , yes.

Steve - nice to know one person likes it. Its hard to tell from the pics, but the four main lights actually oscillate (now you never head a chav with vocab like that) so add a 3d moving touch to the effect. Nothing is ever going under the car though, apart from maybe a thick coat of underseal.

Tell ya what the oddest thing was... I took the floor out the car to screw the lights in to it, and found a SNAIL! stuck to one of the joists... :eek: Still trying now to work out how the hell it got in my boot in the first place.

What's wrong with neons??? It looks good, and I got myself red neons for my footwell and green neons under my car.

The doctor found a snail in my ear canal a few years ago which explains why i was partially deaf, fortunatly it had died and not got much bigger!! caused by camping when i was little he reconed, i can hear a pin drop now!

I like it! I would have prefered to just see the glow rather than the neons themeselves tho. UV would look cool aswell imo Don't mind the chav jokes aslong as you like it who cares?

I have the ultimate chav PC...dunno if the wife would let me loose on the car

Its all about taste with neons imo.....as you can see I have absolutley none!!!

The trouble with the Fabia boot is its VERY hard to tuck lights away anywhere in there. :( You can see the best success I had is with the neon under the floor, which gives a nice glow over the silver Kenwood amp you can see through the hole. I looked into trying to get a couple mounted into one the grooves in the underside of the parcel shelf, but to be honest I don't want screws coming through the shelf, and with the shelf in 45 degree "open" position, they'd be as visible anyway.
