Skoda Fabia Inspection light

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I hope you could help.

I drive a 2008 (57 plate) Skoda Fabia. The garage where I bought it did a service but forgot about the inspection alert. A coupleof months later the inspection alert started coming up every time I turned on the car. I contacted the garage (that is in Southampton and I live in Manchester) and they told me that the only way to get the inspection light to come off was to use a special computer and I would have to drive down to Southampton (4 hours) to get it done otherwise I'm on my own.

is there anyway I can do it at home? I've tried to use the method below but when I hold the button and turn the ignition the only thing that comes up is how many miles/days I am overdue for a service. Any ideas? My car is just the standard Fabia 1 1.2L.

thanks,

joe.

Like I said in my original post, I have tried that a few times and it doesn't seem to change. I've just taken it to another garage and they've have said that its a computer job too.

try holding reset button switch on ignition

whilst still holding reset button turn to the right and hold for a few seconds

see if that does it

It is also possible for you to reset the Service Interval Display with the reset button

? page 11, fig. 4 as follows:

Press the reset button ? page 11, fig. 4 with the ignition switched off and

and hold it down.

Switch the ignition on, release the reset button and and turn the reset button

to the right. All counters will be reset to 0.

It is only possible to reset the Service Interval Display, if a service message or at least

a pre-warning is shown on the display of the instrument cluster.
