MTM chip installed on VRS tsi 10 plate

Featured Replies

Wow just had the above done, 255 bhp and it flies.

I need a new vred ultrac fitted where do people go as black circles don't do it any more. Will scan and post the dyno graph.

I'd love to see your dyno read-out's - I'd be very surprised to see 255.

240 - 245 is the usual. But hay, every single engine is "different" so more than possible.

Sounds good, MTM are very well respected, and whatever the BHP gain, the important bit on the TFSi/TSi engine is the torque gain. That's the bit you will notice the most, the extra shove right across the rev range.

Sounds good - post your dyno so we can have a look. Did you get a before/after plot?

Btw when you say "chip" I think:

255bhp is not unheard of for a tsi stage 1

Exactamundo -

254bhp & 325lb On mine (rolling roaded)

So not unusual at all :)

Good figures, kind of what I have always thought mine was around. Clearly I don't believe the Revo figures of 270bhp but they have a bad habit of over stating their figures which is a shame.

It drives so well it is scary, ESP kicks in accelerating in third in the dry if not too careful. Made a great care into really something special. Can't wait to kick a golf gti's ass

Older Evos and scoobies are even more fun.

I looked at the MTM site - it's pricey stuff isn't it?

£800 for a chuffing remap, no thanks.

Not even Revo are that expensive and that's the finest map money can buy!

Tight ass :D

MTM are King's in tunning, but that price is silly.

It is a lot of cash considering I paid £150 for my Stage 1. Damn good map it was too!

What's your point? Seen it all before. My advice to anyone if they are looking for a remap on the tsi vrs is get Revo based on personal experience or consider APR that I have heard on good authority are also very good.

indeed that was at least nine years ago and has no relevance to this thread at all, the companies have long since gone their separate ways. APR lost its case as they could prove nothing which is why nine years later REVO are still very much here and with us.

Who says I paid 800 ;), not even I am that stupid. Got a very good deal that makes the revo and apr similar. But MTM are the leading German tuners and qst have some amazing engineers. Just by listening in a test drive I was told I had a tyre problem. Took it to a tyre specialist and told it was warped alloy. So they are superb just from a test drive after the re map. I will be using them for everything from now. Quality is what I am after :).
