Can someone please tell me the contact details for skoda uk as I wish to make a complaint against a dealer?

That will do fine thanks, will give them a call on my break.

I rang them and told them expressly not to contact the dealer concerned.

They rang back and said 'Right we've spoken to the dealer and.......'

What a waste of time.

This is the situation;

Bought the car new in 2003, about 9 months ago approx i noticed small bubbles coming up through the paint near the boot catch and just above the left boot hinge which meets the roof. Took it to Horners Bury and they sent it away to the bodyshop. When I got the car back I inspected it and it looked fine.

Early March I noticed the bubbles again coming through the paint above the left boot hinge. I took it to Horners Bury again and they sent it to the horners bodyshop.

3 days later I went to pick up the car, drove it home and then inspected the workmanship. They used a touch up pen on the bad area, not only that it was the wrong shade of yellow but nothing I MEAN nothing was done to the bad paint underneath. I asked the service manager about it and he said he didnt get round to inspecting it before I picked up the car as obviously it would have been flagged.

So I took it back start of last week, again it went for 3 days and when I collected it I was finally expecting it to be correctly repaired. Absolutely unreal. They had sanded down the bad paint to the bare metal, about a 1/5 of the area they used a touch up pen and that was it. I MEAN THAT WAS IT. Seriously pi$$ed off I asked the service manager to look at it, and full of apologies as usual he didnt notice it. Didnt notice it??? How the hell can a professional bodyshop do such a pathetic job. Im then told he will call skoda uk to get an engineer to inspect it as the bodyshop are trying to getway without painting the entire roof, pulling out the aerial from underneath and all the rooflining. I was told Id get a call on monday, havent heard anything yet. Called Skoda UK this afternoon and am told they will look into it.

Pay

That sucks :(

I should imagine you can definitely choose your dealer/bodyshop, it's a free country :D and the cost to Skoda UK will be the same wherever you go.

SWMBO had a problem where her Ford dealer was adamant her failed suspension was not covered by warranty...she contacted Ford Customer Services and they suggested she go to a different dealer to have the work done under warranty

I would suggest a well placed call to Skoda UK. Tell them that you'll be getting two or three quotes for repair and you expect them to either foot the bill or find and authorise another repairer. You have given them sufficent attempts to rectify.

Horners Bury, hmmmmmmmmmm I'm having issues with them at the moment, I've posted in another thread but basically they offered me a new car for a certain price and when i went in a few days later (after paying deposit) they slipped in to the conversation that the car will be registered to them for a few days first (PRE REG)

In the end i said i didnt want the car and i'd come and pick my deposit up but they rang me back a few minutes later and said i could have it not pre reg, Still p****d me off though, not exactly what you want. what car is it? Ive been in there a few times in the past week or two.

Apollo motors bury are the best without a doubt, They let my brother do a lot of the work himself (accident prone on his bike), sanding, filling, sanding then some more sanding till its perfect then they spray it up and charge for the spray, open late as well 12 o clock most nights down there working. Take a pride in their work, makes a difference!

Still not heard anything but for sure its not going back to the same bodyshop, Ill take it to a different dealers if i have to.

Mike its a yellow octavia rs with rs6 alloys and covered in dirt as they didnt bother to wash it on both occasions.

Martin its the same bodyshop from 18 months ago. I have no issues what so ever with Horners Manchester on Bury New Road, service has always been excellent there. They use the same bodyshop though.

I could have done a better job myself.

Might be like my experiance in horners bury, they just tried it on to see if they could get away with it

I'll keep my eyes out for ya, should have a red furby vrs by next week

From my experience as a former automotive assembly line designer it sounds like the bubbles keep coming back because the body galvanising has a problem.

The whole car body will have been galvanised after the majority of welding etc is completed. If the galanising has not taken to a part of the car the body will rust - just like old VW Beetles etc.

If it is the galvanising there is nothing at all that can be done about it other than a complete new body/car.

Not great news I know but I hope this helps.

Whilst not wishing to doubt your expertise I have to disagree with you.

Granted, most new body shells will be Galvanised. Galvanising it will merely give it a coating.

So lets take a real world example - You have a crunch in your motor and it goes in for a body repair to the rear quarter, this involves welding in a new part.

Firstly I doubt the new part would be galvanised and secondly the sanded and welded area certainly won't be. For the protection we rely on a good application of primer and paint which is what Day Tripper wants

They didnt know what was going on. They didnt know as to what the dealer was waiting for. Im told ill get a callback in 48hrs...

I told the guy I want my car to be taken in THIS week. Im told that cant be guaranteed. My ****. There is a paint defect which has been attempted 3 times, now they just cant be arsed.

Its funny how Skoda Uk intervene when there is a member helping users on here, but when their dealers and customer service fail nothing is done about it. All they care about is

This isnt a Skoda specific problem, this is the motor trade in general. I had a

Skoda uk said they were not aware that they were being contacted by the dealer. They look into it got a call today, advising the warranty dept have approved the claim and are in contact with the dealer at the moment to arrange for the car to be taken in.

I'm sure it will be resolved ;)

Well Skoda customer services said today that it cant be booked until at least tuesday next week, because there is no one at horners manchester to book it in. The normal assistant is on holiday, while the service manager has done a runner and noone knows when he will be back.

Im trying to find out the exact date as to when the claim was accepted...
