You'll need to get your own GPS receiver if you don't have one fitted ~£5 on ebay.

This is no longer needed as I had to cancel my order for a Fabia, due to the 9 month wait. It was removed from a brand new octavia SE Plus and has had less than a weeks use. I'm only asking for what I paid which is £350 (now £325), I'll include delivery in this price.

I am told this is the newer version, which has full 7 digit post code functionality

I have tested it and it integrates with the climate control/ parking displays, bluetooth, maxi-dot etc. perfectly

(It's also a LOT faster than my columbus!!!!)

Here's a general spec.

  • 5 inch TFT colour touch screen.
  • Satellite Navigation with voice guidance and turn by turn instruction.
  • FM/AM tuner with 24 memory preset.
  • Double tuner with phase diversity antenna.
  • TMC (Traffic Message Channel).
  • Selectable menu language; English, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Czech.
  • Plays CD, MP3 and unprotected WMA files.
  • SD card slot (for data and audio files).
  • Integration with Multi Function Steering Wheel (where fitted, not all models).
  • A touch-screen controller for many optional devices including Bluetooth™ telephone interface and MDI Apple™ iPod interface.
  • Original Skoda part.

Satellite navigation system

  • Door to door navigation system.
  • Visual and audio navigation instructions.
  • Map data preinstalled on SD memory card (no changing of CDs when crossing country borders).
  • High-performance processor for a fast and accurate calculation of the route.
  • Traffic Information using Traffic Message Channel (TMC).
  • Traffic jam avoidance and automatic re-routing using TMC data.
  • Full 7-digit Postcode input for address navigation.
  • More than 100 different Points of Interest (POI) categories.
  • Split screen display with 2D and 3D map view with compass, bird’s eye views.

Audio

  • CD player compatible with MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg Vorbis.
  • SD Card reader for mp3 and unprotected WMA music.
  • Multimedia jack AUX-IN: connection of external audio sources (Apple™ iPod, MP3 player)
  • Optional connection to Multi Device Interface (MDI).
  • 4 x 20 watt integrated audio amplifier capable of driving up to 8 speakers.

Hi, is this the sav nav that comes as standard if you bought a Fabia with optional navigation system?

Hi,

I may be interested, but have a couple of queries, sorry if they sound dumb but I'm not up on Skoda stereos.

Do you know if it will be a straight swap for the Dance stereo in my 59 plate Fabia?

You mention that you need a GPS receiver - Isn't this integrated in to the unit, or do you mean antenna? Could you provide a link to a suitable one?

Thanks.

Hi,

This is the same one, yes. If you have a face-lift fabia, it is plug and play. However, you may require coding to get it to work with maxi-dot (very simple, just ticking a box on VAG-COM).

Hi,

If you have a pre-facelift Fabia, it is possible to get this unit working with it, however I'm not sure how easy it is to be honest. I think CAN-BUS upgrades are involved. It may be worth posting on the Fabia section, to see if it's straight forward.

Here's a link to the GPS antenna (not receiver, you're correct!) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GPS-antenna-FAKRA-VW-RNS-510-310-315-MFD3-RNS2-MFD2-Skoda-Columbus-Seat-Porsche-/251070124914?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a74f21372

Sorry I'm not more help!

Thanks but I think the little info I have found suggests that it will be too difficult & expensive to fit to my car. Good luck with the sale.

Will this fit a 2008 Octavia and work with the maxi dot and not suffer with the dim scree problem the new bolero has.

I'd like to ask the same question as well please.

Also what is the main difference between this and the columbus?
