How about an E46 BMW M3 or 335i or even 335D. All classy cars with bags of grunt, more space, 4 doors and RWD fun. Not a Hatch I know, but a decent option and now at the right price bracket. Brakes need uprating if you want to do trackdays though.

lol. remap and intake will see 300hp. AWD grip means i can use it, and they are really highly specced as standard. And you can make them power slide!! I had one for a full day as a test drive and it was horrendous on fuel. 16mpg lol

right guys. Persuade me to keep the car. I am paying for all the work still regardless of whether i keep it or sell it, just that if i sell, ill have to strip it all off the cra which is of course alot of effort(and shame after all the development)

So,can some of you guys with a Fabia and young kids/newborns:

1- Take a photo of a newborn child seat in the rear of the car, with the front seats pushed as far back as possible.

2- Take a photo of a newborn buggy and nappy/changing bags in the boot of the car.

If it looks like all is ok, i might just keep the car and carry on the modifications further!!!!

Cheers

Sy

Or just swap it for an Estate and swap all the bits???

New Focus ST estate???? 247bhp as stock.

Golf 2.0T estate (if you can find one, they are pretty rare!)?

Otherwise, Fabia vRS estate, swap the bits from your hatch to it. Return hatch to stock and sell. No need to spend out too much on "new" performance upgrades for the car. Some money saved. Sorted.

Or just swap it for an Estate and swap all the bits???

And it will be faster!

Indeed - everyone knows the Estates are faster

The options for me are keep this car if seats fit well, or buy a completely different car(budget 7-8k)

Can anyone help out with kid's help out with seat pics etc?

Goes without saying ad. Your estate vs my hatch. Not a chanceid ever beat it :)

My 2010 Fab VRS hatch could just manage my 2 kids. But in 2012 it ran out of room and I went Octy now kids are 6 and 4. I had a roof box but the kids moaned in there.

There is a stage post-buggy where it works but it depends on their size and relative ages and your size etc.

I know they are cred-free motors but buy a Roomster, transplant your oily bits, then stick a Monte sticker on the Fab and flog it.

Oh and get some dark glasses, and a false moustache, and beard, and a hat, for driving the Vroomster.

Have a wander down to the local out-of-town mothercare superstore thingy and tell them you'll buy whatever they have that'll fit - one of their range will have the right folded shape to fit the boot although the Furby isn't a small hatch in the grand scale of things...and if all else fails, there's the roofbox option????

I would do but I'm in the middle east working at the moment, hence why I'm asking for pics

Yep - I gathered - but on your way back from picking it up?

Whilst i don't have ankle-biters of my own, I've heard of many people having the same quandry about buying baby kit - and each different one on the market folds slightly different and into a different shape.. Can't help with pics (obviously), but I doubt there's need to change from the Furby just because of the needs of a baby buggy; thats all...but if you want to change, then its a good reason! Trying to be a voice of balance...

Iv had a booster seat in the back of mine whilst taking the GFs nephew somewhere and there was a fair bit of room however that was behind the passenger seat as it was doubtfull it would go behind mine as i need the seat right back

You could maybe get away with a baby seat though as they dont need leg space, il borrow the GFs sisters baby seat and get a pic for you at the weekend if i can :)

Quality babby-seats with Isofix and/or shock absorber legs do take up legroom though.

OP will need high-spec seats for babbys first track day.

Why do you need pictures? A few people have told you it works so trust them. Has the middle east has it not inspired you to go Land Crusier? Awesome car, was driven around in one when I was out last year. Even through armed checkpoints i felt safe and comfortable in one.

Keep it until you try it for yourself Sy. Being in the forces you should know the golden rule.....

Adapt to the conditions.

Definitely too small for 2 kids.

You will regret selling it but needs must mate

Because based on a picture or personal opinion of my own I can make an educated decision, based on what someone else has said its not an educated decision because its someone elses opinion, which might disagree with mine. You wouldn't feel safein one of those land cruisers if sou seen ehat hapoens to them in an explosion. Small arms fire great, IEDs not great. Great air con though, good bunch of opetators as well

No pics because I chopped my mkII estate in for a Yeti in March.

You will manage with one, but it's won't be ideal. You are looking at a real compromise.

At 6'2" I had the seat right back and there just was not enough space in my opinion.

OK if you can train your little one to keep thier legs down and not to move, but personally I don't like squeezing everyone in so they can't move with thier knees very close to the back of the front seat.

Get a fairly substantial child seat and you won't even have space for thier legs.

Boot space is very tight, estate is much better.

I always had to put my little man behind my wife and she had the seat forward... Well, actually after the first time we just used a bigger car because it was a faff.

Don't forget, it's not just about having the seat back as far as possible, but also how far you recline the back when driving.

I tend to keep it quite upright. If you like driving laying down it's a two seater.

I'm only 5'9", the wife is 5'4". So seats are no where near fully back.

Struggling to get pics up, but I'm a similar height and have 2 kids, in the back is fine for the kids, problem is the boot. The main mamas & papas buggy will not fit. Have also a smaller light weight pushchair, this only just fits in across the boot. In reality one night away is the limit in the vrs. That's why we kept the Mazda 5 for family duties. However, not far from not needing pushchair, so will make living with the vrs much easier

You'll be fine then, but you'll need an estate to not struggle with the boot.

It's always going to feel a bit small, even if you can manage though. Because it is a small car. (obviously)

Get an estate, chop your bits over and watch people's faces as you shoot past them in a Skoda Estate car on track... job done. :D
