Featured Replies

Hi all

So how good is this,I am considering changing the pug 107 but when one reads all the info it gets realy confusing, the car will mainly be used around town but may pop in to the wider world etc,I no it is no pocket rocket and would not expect it to be but all so I do not want to wait ages for the power pick up,any one out there that can give me an idea,I shall be taken a test ride in due course :hi:

Ok that darn computer,I did mean how good :@

It's adequately nippy around town.4th and 5th gears are quite high though,so you need to use the gears.

It sounds pleasantly sporty with its 3 cylinder thrum.I got 65mpg ,my wife on a different drive 57mpg.

I've ordered a 75, but test drove a 60. It got up to 75mph by the end of a slightly uphill slip road. Around town the drive is decent, and if you stick your foot down the engine tone is sweet.

It's a fun little car - I say little, but it's only a couple of inches shorter than a MK1 Golf. Very pleasant on city roads, nice and airy. The visibility is excellent and at 6ft 4 I didnt feel in the least bit cramped. Plenty of elbow room.

Apart from one trip to Germany every year I only really drive around town nowadays. I'm trading down from a MKII Octavia VRS, just not doing the mileage any more and can't live with the 25mpg, tax and insurance costs any more. Using the finance deal with a little put down the monthly repayment is less annually that the insurance and tax for my Octavia. A no brainer really.

It's a nippy little engine, very characterful!

Most of the dealers have the 60ps version of the Citigo available for test drive. We drove one and it was lovely -we've ordered the 75 as we figured we might as well load it up on the spec and get everything that we wanted.

Compared to the 107 (I've only driven an Aygo -but it's pretty much the same car as the 107) The Citigo is in a different league -it feels and rides like a bigger car and has much, much more interior space. The Skoda's engine is smoother and quieter than the 107's but not quite as powerful

We looked at a lot of small cars and the Citigo was head and shoulders above the rest for our needs (Seat and VW versions not available with 5 doors at present).

Yes going to have a test drive,i no on paper the pug has a bit more power but that is not the full picture i guess, citygo is a new car while the pug is getting on,have to see.just wonder about any sluggishness on the 60ps but as i say power is not what i am after.

One thing is for certain, Clive. You'll not miss the quite loud engine on the 107.

The citigo, even though it has a 3 pot like the 107, is much quieter and more refined.

It is also smooth and doesn't seem to require as much throttle to get it moving.

In my view, listen to an ago, 107, C1 pulling off and it always sounds like a new driver at the wheel!

Loads of gas and no go!

As said above, the citigo is a sprightly little thing and I reckon it might surprise you.

All in all, a lovely little car and, from our 1 hour test drive, a nice place to be day to day.

Sure, it isn't going to make a great motorway car but it is good enough for the odd longer trip..

Many Thanks all for your input,CFB see you have a white 60 Elegance on order, this might be the colour we go for or the red, what del time have you for it.in regard to the 107 you are correct I do not no why I bought it as I had one before, but while waiting on the del of the vrs did need two cars running.

Ive just bought my wife another 107, after 3 years of trouble free motoring in her old one. Basically she only wants a basic motor, and the fact we could get a 107 for a whole grand less than a Citigo swayed it.... also the 107 just has bags of character and is a fun small car, I find the Citigo just a bit too grown up.... even a tad dull.

I've borrowed a Citygo 60ps SE until tomorrow and did legal speed limit for 20 miles earlier.

It goes well as long as you are prepared to work it a little.

Acceleration is nothing special, but it gets the job done and doesn't seem to struggle on inclines unless they are steep.

Would handle my commute of 40 miles quite well, which is good praise for a city car.

Good to hear.

I'm hoping to finally get to test drive one this week. Already made my mind up which one to order the 75PS 5 door Elegance with a few extras.

If the test drive goes ok then an order will be placed.

:) been doing it for years.

It's the only way I get a sensible answer! :giggle:

Thought our luck was in this morning.

Dropped the vRS in for a service and there was an unloaded transporter outside.

No such luck.

No citigo :(

How do you find the heating/AC in the car-have noticed there are only two dashboard vents, seems a bit mean.

Had a test drive today and we noticed that. Still it did feel comfortable in the car on a very warm afternoon with only the fan on first setting.

Yes, but I thought they were very nice vents. :)

Actually better styled than the ones in all the other Skodas.

Perhaps they thought, small space, only 2 vents needed ?

They are pretty though.

:giggle:

Apparently some ventilation comes through to the cabin from the vents above the heater controls.

Obviously this may be blocked by the PID (if fitted).

From my test drive I can confirm that this is true.

Very pleasant ventilation!

The 107 is still a fine car. If you like the character of the engine, it's perfectly fine! I drive an Aygo and it's an absolute hoot.

Must say, I drove the Citigo 75 (Elegance) a few weeks back and was quite impressed. It is indeed more refined than the PSA triplets but I wasn't sure if it was quite as much fun. But quality/gadget-wise, it is of course much better - and I'd consider one over the Up and Mii any day. I did wonder if the 60 would be powerful enough, though - as I felt my Aygo was a bit more powerful than the 75 Citigo, after getting back into it. It's a tough one!

Yep - same with the Aygo - that vent on top of the dash acts as a normal air vent, just that it isn't directional.
