Hi All,

I have recently noticed that there is a bit of lacquer peel on my spoiler of my car. My car is a 2007 Mk1 VRS (Black) and I know there is a 3 yr paint guarantee and a 10 yr corrosion guarantee.

Has anyone managed to get there's done for free at Skoda under the corrosion guarantee; I'm going to argue that they didnt prep the spoiler well enough leading to the lacquer peeling! If you did get it for free what exactly did you say so I can do it too

Not that I know of.

Best I heard was someone got 50% contribution from the dealer.

My spoiler has a tiny amount too, and will get worse as the rain and water from washing it gets underneath.

**** poor quality of finish really.

Only about 100 get it done not worth fighting.

Just an update on this...Skoda have agreed to pay 50% of the spoiler repairs and they will send the cheque to me when the guy gets back off holiday. Result!

Does this apply to any age vrs as my bonnet is doing same

I'd say so, my son's 54 plate has a matt finish spoiler (the laquer's all gone!), I've just had the spoiler on my 07 plate resprayed as it was just starting to go, both cars are silver.

Not sure if my lacquer is peeling or peeled, not sure how to tell ?

My rear arch is bubbling and corroding and the spolier literally has no paint left as all flaked off :-( 54 plate so I guess its down to age and won't get anything...
