Shadows Entity's MK1 stage 2 + r32 setup

Got the car back yesterday.... doesn't even feel like the same car, Clive has made it into an animal. 5th Gear actually does something now, don't even have to drop down to overtake just a twitch on the throttle is all you need.

Actually slightly scared of what my car can do now, being very careful with the throttle while I get use to it.

Gear change is easier and smoother with the SMF conversion

Handling is out of this world, never driven anything that felt so connected... just none stop grip

First post updated with total modifications at the bottom

Exhaust no longer rattles :) new backbox mounts and it sits perfect

  • Author

raised it a bit too as the speed bumps at work were getting a bit tedious slowing down to 1mph and braking on the crest... fitted some fk spacers too so they're flush with the wheel arch... Looks good will take pictures tomorrow

Whats the ride like on ap's?

  • Author

fast use perfect... normal road use can be bumpy. Can't really compare as they're the only coilovers I've had but the ride is no worse than standard setup to me

And here is the car raised a bit... front is probably close to standard height but the back is lower than standard so it sits level

Not really an update but one of my tyres decided to get a slow puncture... 10 psi loss in a week.

As they're semi slicks can't really only replace one so getting two. they're getting pretty worn anyway but still had a couple of thousand in them.

Gone for Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT as they have good reviews and will be alright for what I want and a lot better wet grip.

Going from a 40 to a 45 too for a bit more comfort

will see if they're any good this wednesday

Had another go at getting my exhaust sorted so it would stop rattling and catching and knocking.... And also make it legal

So I picked a night to get it done and it happened to be raining...

Thought I'd give it a long shot and ask my bosses boss if I could use what is called our 'Skidding shed' as that's where they used to keep WW2 guns to skid out and build up on the White cliffs of Dover... Luck would have it that so long as I didn't leave a mess or die it was fine.

So I had lights, a dry floor and flat which helps and loads of room unlike the roadside which is what I'm used too... So thought i'd take some pictures.

BTW I keep jacks in place with slightest bit of pressure to reduce effort of axle stands on underside if anyone wants to be funny, also double back up

So result, 3" downpipe with sports cat and a non rattley exhaust, does knock occasionally on big bumps but that is ok in comparison

Thanks to my boss, not that she'll ever read this...... :)

mot today, let's see how much is wrong this year

  • Author

failed on emissions and front tyres and front passenger wishbone Bush too much play....

leaking exhaust between turbo and down pipe so before lambda which is making emissions worse

could be a loose bolt on wish bone and it's there a gasket on the down pipe? Will find out tomorrow

ordered two more Dunlop SP sport maxx rt and got a new gasket anyway

  • Author

Refitting downpipe gasket and getting it tight on tonight and looking for loose bolt on passenger wishbone, retest on Tuesday a long with 2 new front tyres

  • Author

result tightened wishbone bolts and no knocks and took the downpipe off and the gasket came apart in two bits of metal so the paper inbetween had completely disintegrated... refitted and tightened and exhaust now sounds fluid, so smooth it's almost silky :)

Dipetane helps with emissions you can buy a bottle of it for around a tenner, I always throw a half bottle in before the nct test and I've never had a problem with it passing

  • Author

Put in cataclean but hopefully with the gass leak sorted it will be giving the lambda the correct values to stop over fuelling

  • Author

retest fingers crossed

good luck m8
