Got the car back yesterday.... doesn't even feel like the same car, Clive has made it into an animal. 5th Gear actually does something now, don't even have to drop down to overtake just a twitch on th

good good wasnt to keen on your current rims :giggle: how about white? sounded wicked when you drove off ;) hows the slam panel? still cooking eggs on it :notme:

Sounds even better now with the cat on.... was a bitch to fit though as my old one didn't want to come off... turbo bolts were easy it just didn't want to pull out of the rest of the exhaust. Ended up having to chop it out... then the second lambda wouldn't come out until 30mins of putting my back out.yea still waiting for the phenolic gasket so hot inlet :)

yeah thought it might . you needed a big old beater! keep hammering the ****e out of it lol hate the sensors can be a pain. :giggle: dont really rate them tbh mines still hot and ive got the gasket and fmic :giggle:

any news!?

Yep my car works now and is 100% road legal with a brand spanking MOT :)

Knew I'd finally done something right as my average MPG was up despite my un economic driving...

Some pics of the work....

Here is the cat I got off Terkin

And here is the old one... classic spot the difference of inside diameter.

20130704_150713.jpg

Had to chop the old one off as it would not budge from the sleeve join and it was the quickest way as the exhaust is all welded as it's a miltek so I couldn't just detach the silencer as it doesn't have one...

Intake manifold swap and phenolic gasket in progress, also gave me a chance to check all the pipe work properly underneath for leaks...

The manifold I put back on is one I had worked on ages ago where I've smoothed and slightly widened the inlet tracts aswell as where the throttle body joins and as far in as I could get my dremel... Probably made no difference but at least it's clean on the inside lol....

So after all that effort from my CO emissions starting at 3.7% they are now at 0.10 so happy that I've finally done something right :)

P.S i know my dipstick tube is broken :(

so it was cat then :wonder:

good news anyway

Ordered some bits, nothing massively exciting... but thanks to Lloyd I'll be getting a michi oil catch can which will look nice and help keep things running smoothly.

Plus just some maintenancey things like exhaust heat wrap and heat reflective tape... not exactly gonna reach 300bhp with those goodies but it's important to maintain the car :)

Oh yea and got a new dipstick tube :)

good good hows the spacer??? how you doing for a fmic :giggle:

oh and your funky mani hows that lol

Yea manifold is cold when running, no idea if it's made a difference smoothing out about 1mm internally but it can't be any worse than oil build up and casting lines... Also it had one less vacuum pipe on the underneath which makes it look neater than bunging a pipe off.

No FMIC yet but it will do one day... Just have to convince my gf that my SMIC has blown up and needs replacing lol

cool guess not,ah thats good then what is golf one or something?

heard a bang last night didnt you? pretty sure its your cooler tbh :giggle: let us know if you do i have a core and loads of boost pipes so we can make one up wont want to much for it as its doing jack so you might aswell make use!

:) cool

Is it staying black ?

Either that or red, looks ok as it is imo like its supposed to be there. Dont know why these weren't standard anyway... definitely noticed some tighter conning like round abouts were I used to get a bit of tyre squeel at the same speed now no noise
