Skoda Website - "Track my car"

Featured Replies

Having ordered a new Skoda Yeti at the beginning of this month I went to the Skoda UK website and tried the "Track my Skoda" feature. Entered my order number and - vehicle isn't on the system.

Actually it says that it can take up to 6 weeks before the car appears on the system.

Does anyone have recent experience of how long it took before details appeared?

I didn't think the "TrackMySkoda" was a Skoda UK site. I always thought it was private?

looks like a genuine Skoda UK site to me.

Just a couple of dealerships, Bickertons & Rainworth, I think?

I think this site only works if your order has gone through one of the participating dealers - Bickerton & Rainworth from looking at the site.

That site is not run by Skoda UK, its operated by two dealers only.

A little bit of advice from someone who works in IT and for a Company that has internet based products. Just because a site "looks" genuine, don't assume it is.

Anyone can buy a domain name that looks and sounds very close to a Companies proper domain name.

For example if I felt like it I could purchase www.skodasales.com this afternoon for a few pence more than £21,and set up a site that would fool anyone into thinking it is real.

Don't forget dealers have access to all the Skoda Artwork, they are not trying to misrepresent Skoda, but merely add their own presence as part of a Corporate entity.

At the bottom of the page its says -

Copyright Vision Automotive (UK) Group 2011,and just above that it lists the dealers in that group.

Heritage are not part of that group and that is why your order will not be tracked.

As you can see from my signature my car was ordered in week 17 - all I have at the moment is an unconfirmed build week of 38, (given by my dealer at order time).

Your dealer should keep you informed of your orders progress, if you want further confirmation then its back to SUK, who will gladly help.

However, as I have mentioned before you are unlikely to get a firm build week until its almost due to happen.

As stated the site is only applicable to Bickertons & Rainworth customers. Skoda UK Customer Services are aware of this site and agree that it is very useful for those customers but doubt if Skoda UK would ever do the same. Perhaps Bickertons & Rainworth have it copyrighted?

As above the "track my skoda" is run by Rainworth and Bickerton Skoda., Rainworth supplied mine.

The info is not a live feed and is updated by "a man in a room upstairs", if he has time it gets updated, if he is too busy is does not. My experience with Rainsworth was a good price, a very accurate delivery date and the track my Skoda facility thrown in.

Rainworth and Bickerton are owned by the same person.
