GoPro is the way to go

Featured Replies

Did a short test of my latest purchase. A GoPro HD2. The res is amazing (1920x1080 at 30fps). Only let down the mic but still great to have around.

Nice videos, what kind of mount did you use, is the the mount that comes with the camera? I only ask as I'm trying to do some instructional videos for my driving school but only using my phone it's difficult to keep steady. Stabilization settings on Youtube give a strange warping look, this camera looks perfect.

Check out my videos, you'll see what I mean http://msmiw.co.uk/m...arys-roundabout if the link doesn't work try taking the spaces out of this and put . msmiw co uk and then click on the videos section.

PS : That's my boss commentating, not me!!

I used the suction cup that comes with the camera. It is very strong so you will not get much vibration plus the arms that hold the camera are very strong too.

Also what is great is the 170degrees wide angle lens option (can be chosen through the camera's menu). That is the one I used.

Only annoyance is that the camera base cannot be rotated but only swivels up and down.

Check this guy's vid - at the middle of the video he demonstrates the suction cup and base.

by the way the option I got was the Motorsports Edition :)

Good bits of kit these!

does it come with an external mic slot?

I've got one too. Used it on trackdays, cycles, kayaking and hopefully next week climbing Snowdon. Great bit of kit

Mine from Bedford - removed passenger headrest and used suction cup on top corner of the rear passenger window:

They do have an external mic port, but it doesn't work with the waterproof case (which is the one you get in the box). You either need to buy a "skeleton" case (which has lots of holes) or drill your own, in which case it's not waterproof any more.

The only problem I found with the GoPro is that the foot does sometimes rattle in the mount.

(you don't use this with the suction cup though)

Had this on my mk1 and mk2, both times I had to wedge a piece of paper between the two to stop a light clicking noise on the recording.

I've noticed the same on a few video clips on youtube too.

Can be easily fixed with the rubber plug that comes with the camera. :)

Oh, that's what it's for! :D
