Hi Guys

Seems my fabia has developed a problem with the bonnet not shutting correctly. I read in the manual that you should just drop it but this does not seem to work. I have tried pushing it when it is close and this also does not work.

I have checked the mechanism and it seems to be working ok. Am I missing something here?

Is there a trick to getting it to shut?

Manually lock the mechanism, then get someone to release it from inside the car. Check the cable is free to move within the insulating cover, as they do run dry and drag when they get on a bit. A bit of wd40 down the sheath and a few pulls and pushes of the cable should "wet" it up and free it off a bit.
